They're always kinda long just based on match results but if they're long right now I've got to assume that's mostly all news. I've not actually read the newsletter during covid.

Probably could of been longer too since there wasn't a big Mexico section and reports are there has been even more deaths due to Covid

Dave was happy with this one and for the most part he does a good job covering everything that was said but there's some commentary from him that doesn't need to be there. He covers *a lot* of what was reported and some of the follow up as well. If he didn't stick his nose in there you could say that it was a good summary, with some nice detailed context but Dave gotta be Dave and throw in his 2 cents. If you are following the other thread you're probably a bit a head of where Dave is, as he didn't got deep on Paige unless I happened to have skipped over it.

So I unsubbed to F4Wonline because I was short on money and I mostly listened for Retro Raw and Nitro and that ended. But now I'm seeing them uploading Invasion era stuff. How are far they gonna continue Retro RAWS? I might resub for this. P.S. I had forgotten how dirty the WWE did the Hardy's in the early 2000s. A classic case of succeeding in spite of the company.

Incessant Excess posted:Would you really say that tho? Ricochet is like the Ur-Example for in perpetuity that means phrases like "can't miss prospect" or "megastar written all over them" are officially bullshit when the system is about being a cog in the machine and a cog made out of wood and a cog made out of titanium will do the same job the same. Like there have been cases before this that were used "became megastars in spite of" such as CM Punk and Daniel Bryan where they were never meant to grow beyond that but did in spite of being pushed down as hard as they could. Ricochet proves that no matter how great a generational talent is they will not reach that potential unless the right environment exists. When Ricochet signed with WWE he was unquestionably the better wrestler than Will Ospreay and in the top five in the world. Saying that now would make you look like a fool. That this mans ceiling is the D-show and may very well be forgotten in history when his contemporaries are building Hall of Fame careers elsewhere is asinine.

Drew was always much more of a can't miss prospect in WWE than a small flip guy and even he missed the first time around.

I agree with that as one of the people who has been for years pushing how McIntyre is so clearly one of those THE guys (to the point where more than once in these forums people didn't realise Drew McIntyre and Drew Galloway were the same person) but with that said reducing Ricochet to "small flip guy" is the very same issue with how WWE sees him. Small flip guys are everywhere, hell WWE didn't sign Ricochet the first time because they had PAC and they said we don't need two small flip guys to be small flip guy jobbers. The problem, as that is clear, Ricochet and in fact PAC weren't just any "small flip guys" they are the best of the best and superstars in their own right. PAC in AEW was pre-pandemic the hottest wrestler besides Moxley who should've got a run at the top. He is transcendentally good at wrestling, and AEW has a tonne of people you would call "small flip guys" but he still stands head and shoulders above. When you're on a roster with Fenix and Nick Jackson and still as a complete wrestler you are so far ahead is astounding. All this is to show that yes Ricochet's last year was amazing.

Ricochet actually just sucks, watch his Smackdown commercial where he can’t deliver a simple line on something that wasn’t even filmed or produced by WWE’s normal team it was made by FOX. He is a charisma vacuum who has only ever been successful under a mask in a company where he is the only one capable of his move set so not AEW NJPW or WWE. he can flip and do acrobatics all day but he is incapable of the major facet of wrestling that is acting in any capacity.

Ricochet was really successful and amazing in Dragon Gate, explicitly a a company where he was unmasked and 90% of the roster had a similar style. Because he's among the absolute best at what he does in character. So he's not the most charismatic dude ever, give him a manager. Put him under a mask. None of these things are insurmountable issues. If you can't find out how to utilise a guy who is that good at one (major) aspect of wrestling you aren't very good at promoting wrestling. (Also didn't Lucha Underground have dudes like Aerostar & Fenix who hardly have that different a moveset to Ricochet? And in New Japan at a time Will Ospreay was on the roster Ricochet still stood out as an amazing talent)

Ricochet can’t even manage to speak a sentence into a camera without sounding like a robot having a panic attack he’s the worst talker i’ve seen in 27 years of watching pro wrestling. He doesn’t even botch which could be entertaining he just murmurs his way through comatose line reading like he has some kind of severe brain damage.
