sadly I can neither defend nor explain my diorama, let alone justify how it may be related to thanksgiving. these are the wages of going into the craft store without any diorama concept in mind, then leaving without any concept in mind, then actually starting work with mind still blissfully empty of concept or purpose.

but since a narrative helps sate our primal need for order in a chaotic universe, I will suggest that the caterpillar is the thankful one. thankful to have entered the soothing pastel realm of byob, and to have encountered the good posts (small jewels) and good posters (large jewels) that abound here. hammock kitten gazes benevolently upon the newcomer, and the eyes (lurkers) bear witness to this miracle of chill.

The fact that you got a kids table in there is what does it for me.

Also surprisingly deep cutting commentary on the modern social condition of phone/tablet use, especially in the leaf world

Olive!

It's not a ghost, but probably a 'living corpse'. The 'living dead' with a hell of a lot of bloodlust...
what are they eating? is it salad? does that make them cannibals? the diorama is good

*thinks of a way to sabotage the telltale heart diorama*

City of Glompton

edit:

I was asked to provide a close up of the centerpiece so here ya go

in case anyone is interested in what went into this:

the 'wallpaper' is glitter striped foam from the dollar store.

the 'pictures' (aside from the leaf one) are stickers from the dollar store.

all the furniture is from the dollar store, but I painted it.

'carpet' and 'rug' are felt squares.

'plates' are paper punches, the 'bowls' are acorn tops that I painted.

'bread' is pine nuts in the shell

'tomatoes' are berries off a bush from outside.

'salad' is tissue

napkins are tiny bits of real napkin

silver wear is tiny slivers of foil

I used florist wire hotglued to the leaves to make them bend and to hold the devices (which are bits of foam of course)

the centerpiece on the buffet is made of tiny acorns, some thorns, some moss, a twig, a clam shell, a big acorn, and a tiny pine cone
