I find it hilarious that Bisping gained the reputation of an absolute murderer after tagging Rockhold and almost getting finished by Dan Henderson's memorial statue.

Yeah Bisping totally could've won were he not almost knocked out and then choked unconscious. This is a totally relevant conversation to have.

My personal favorite was the Buentello fight. At most angles it looks like he just hunches forward and then Buentello flops across his back knocked the gently caress out. The crowd erupts in boos while Buentello protests the stoppage despite struggling to maintain his balance.

Then the replay shows Arlovski landing a lightning overhand right and the crowd goes from boos to cheers. Classic.

I personally feel like dominance prior to getting knocked out in the first round shouldn't automatically entitle you to a rematch.

Other people have done this without loving up the title picture as badly as Conor has. I didn't mention debt. In fact, no one loving did. The only people who mention debt here are the people ironically bagging on non-existent people who constantly loving mention debt, ironically only done by people discounting debt as a discussion topic.

Also, yeah, the belt thing kind of matters. Is it really so unbelievable to you that there are people who want the belt/title picture to be at least semi legitimate? Rather than having the LW belt held by someone who's fought once in the division before loving off for 18 months while the same two guys with massive win streaks keep getting passed over exactly as they have been for 18 months? (closer to two years, since Khabib or Tony should have got the shot before Alvarez.

If you can't get it through your head that there are people annoyed by the belt being held by someone who doesn't fight with any regularity based on any relationship with the actual division's rankings (official or hypothetical) then I don't know what to tell you

Not really, though. On the whole, PPVs are down. Sure, people are watching his PPVs (just like they watched Brock's, Ronda's, GSPs) but they're not sticking around to watch anything else. If you need proof, look at UFC 191, just next to two Ronda cards and a Conor card, and it sold exactly as well as you'd expect a Mighty Mouse card to sell.

And it's come at the cost of the LW title picture being hosed beyond recognition.

Defend a loving belt. Or relinquish it. Or just fight. Much as he won't have done for 18 loving months by the time April rolls around.

You're one post away from defending trickle down economics. Conor is good for Conor. No one else is getting any richer unless they're management.

GSP/Anderson was always about GSP coming up to fight Anderson, and GSP always said the move would be permanent.

This is about Dillashaw coming down to face DJ and become another 2-belt champ (not like Conor's is legit since he's never defended). DJ doesn't have a reason to decline the bout like GSP did.

DJ has defended his belt a record amount of times.

Conor gets what he wants because he's a goose laying golden eggs.

TJ just got his belt back in a division that has emerging contenders that he should probably concern himself with more than fighting the champion of the division beneath him just for masturbatory purposes.

These two are nothing alike.

Anderson Silva was a giant middleweight, Georges was an average sized welterweight. He claimed many times it would take a good year to bulk up to where he was comfortable to fight at MW and he didn’t want to hold up a stacked division at WW.

DC fights in relatively weak division and fought at 135 a big chunk of his career and has also cleared his division.

He’s ducking, there’s no way around it.

Yeah you're right.

The champion of a division not wanting to fight the champion of the weight class above him is absolutely nothing like the champion of a division not wanting to fight the champion of the weight class above him.

Totally different situations.
