21 Muns posted:I get what you're trying to say here, but before the story broke with, say, Weinstein, Weinstein wasn't who everyone was pointing at. They were all pointing at Dan Schneider. He's under tons of scrutiny, in a way that people who have actually turned out to be rapists (Weinstein, Spacey, CK, Ansari) have not. And that scrutiny is pretty clearly baseless if it's been this long and no one's managed to actually come up with anything. There has never been anyone who accused Louis CK of rape, nor was any kind of conduct that would be considered rape a part of his confession. Even if you count what Ansari did as rape (which is somewhat ambiguous), it's flat-out disingenuous to call CK a rapist rather than just a sexual assaulter. As for Schneider, here's a long Twitter thread detailing posts made about him on Crazy Days and Nights. CDAN is not a wholly reliable source, but this thread does have the related circumstantial evidence against Schneider, which stretches back over 10 years. https://twitter.com/JohnDoe78359022/status/978403425758171137

Rhyno posted:Just wait, right this minute Kevin Spacey and his people are plotting his redemption arc and comeback. And he's most likely going to succeed. I've been thinking a lot lately about how Kevin Spacey is going to be regarded in the future (I definitely think he'll come back). I can almost see him as someone similar to Lawrence Tierney; given roles that fit the repugnant person he is in real life. Spacey's career (other than a few odd entries like K-PAX) has more or less just been him playing evil, perverted assholes, so I could definitely see him just turning into the skid and only taking roles of predators/rapists for awhile.

As a fan of the Onion and other similar outlets, I love the fake news segments from Louis' show. The rest can be safely abandoned to the dustbin of history, but I will never forget Hurricane Jasmine Forsythe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pc4tfdMUWIo

Bust Rodd posted:Hart grew up in Philly and knew the school system sucked and I don’t understand why a celebrity spending $50 million to help educate kids and give them better opportunities is seen as a bad thing. Do you have a source for this $50 million dollar figure? Every result I have found when searching has been one of the two following things: 1. That he donated $250,000 to the Philadelphia school system and additionally donated 300 laptops to the district (https://www.huffpost.com/entry/kevin-hart-philadelphia-donation-schools_n_4182212) 2. That he set up a $650,000 scholarship fund for HBCUs (https://www.uncf.org/the-latest/kevin-harts-charity-launches-a-new-600k-scholarship-program-with-uncf-and-k) Both of these are certainly to be lauded, but I haven't seen anything even close to the $50 million figure. Where did you see this number?
