They literally scanned Tessa Thompson with one like two episodes ago.

I hate to be That Guy that maybe sucks at watching television, but when I saw that, it was my assumption that they're scanning for some chip in the back of her neck or something, not to check if she's a host or not, but to positively ID her as A Big Deal.

Honestly the word just makes me embarrassed as a woman tbh. It's not as if we don't shittily explain things to eachother in a way that's talking down, as well. It really doesn't warrant a gendered word imho.

If you don't think it's a good or useful word, then feel free to not use it. Those of us who do will continue to do so.

Marginally related; getting me to actually appreciate Sizemore as a character might very well be Season 2's greatest achievement :v: .He's obviously still shallow and not exactly a great person, but he's gotten so far from the caricature he was in S1.

That part was ok, but some of his other "humorous" scenes just felt ham-fisted. Best example is the pee scene. There are plenty of ways in which Westworld the show can be written to be funny, but that is not one of them (random example: the potential rapist bandit being flipped to be the most chivalrous gun in the west).

Yes but you see how else can I feel superior and act all smug than by telling other people they're enjoying media wrong

I am confused by some of the hypothetical arguments, isn’t CGI child porn illegal in actual world? I am not going to google it but pretty sure is illegal in all developed countries.

CGI killing is not illegal.

One of the main reasons CGI child porn is illegal in most of the world is because it might legitimately be confused for the real thing, and would make investigating real child porn problematic. Stuff like hentai (that is obviously fake) isn't illegal, and if I spend 30 seconds making a drawing of a child having sex (that is also obviously fake), that will also not be illegal. It only becomes "child porn" when it's real/realistic.

Whereas we have yet to encounter a situation where a person might be confused between whether they're killing a real person, or a video game character. We'd need some crazy advanced VR/drugs/neural implants/whatever other technology or combination thereof before this could become a matter that might have to be legislated against.

All you need to know is that TV writers will never, ever, write anything coherent involving data encryption. You have to sign an affidavit when you join the WGA swearing that you don't understand how anything to do with information theory or encryption actually works and promise never to read up on it.

Sorry I need to ask, is this an actual thing?
