I didn't think i had any stoner friends but after I read "schizophrenic" for the third time I remembered, I do and they're all schizophrenic  tbf although they're the type to have a marijuania leaf shirt or two and instagram handles with "kush" or "420" in them, they also into adderall, alcohol, and meth and are retarded besides that so I don't fully blame the weed.

I don't think we had any "weed is life" people in our high school group or knew anyone who was like that. We all smoked it daily back then but we were more into skating than smoking up when we had the choice. I almost became that person but everyone pointed it out and I slowed down and eventually stopped. oh well When I retire I'll pick it back up again.

One of the biggest stoners/gently caress-ups I knew had his dad give him the start up money for a head shop. He's recently opened his third store, is incredibly wealthy and smokes so much he got a stomach ulcer Pretty much everyone else is doing kinda lovely

My wife and I smoke weed all the time I've been doing it since 16. We both have 6 figgie jobs in the big city and have a wide circle of friends and we go on several week long vacations a few times a year. I also got an advanced degree in physics recently. People that end up being failures were going to be that way regardless of smoking weed or not, sorry getting daughter-zoned gave you a complex about all sorts of stuff Pick.

The biggest stoner friend from high school became homeless for a long time, somehow ended up in Hawaii in a commune, then back to his home state and was homeless and in and out between his dad's house. His dad is rich as hell, but didn't want to support a loser. The other friend got really into weed and then became a mechanic. He lives within 10 miles of where he was born. His Instagram profile is public, and sometimes go look at the photos. Man, that guy's life is so boring. His brother was a big fat game nerd, but skipped the stoner thing, got into IPAs and Cross Fit, lost a bunch of weight, and also lives within a few miles of where he was born. It makes me depressed as hell to look at their photos. Any other stoner friend I knew shaped up to be a regular, responsible adult.

being a stoner or not really didn't play much into the part whether or not my friends became successful. for instance, i was a struggling stoner friend back in college. these days i have a job that pays me a lot of money and a hot girlfriend. most people prolly consider this successful, but i genuinely love my life, it owns. except for this hang over right now...

My wife smokes a truckload of weed due to migraines. She’s a biochemist for Big Pharma. My mother smokes 2 truckloads of weed and owns two decently successful businesses. I smoke a couple hits a month and I’m collecting unemployment, so maybe I need to step up my game?

The biggest stoner friend I know got into weed in college, lost 100 lbs, has a good paying job as an engineer, and is probably going to propose to my sister-in-law. I mean, I'm kinda expecting a Christmas proposal. I hope so anyway, they seem really good for each other.

I met all mine at university so maybe it skews the numbers but pretty much all of them are either doing engineering for shitloads of money and travelling round the world or doing PhDs in engineering i think the amount of weird specialist drugs they were into actually roughly correlated with how smart and successful they were another is doing medicine another one dropped out of medicine but was very lazy to start off with so I'm calling that a wash and he seems happy enough my dealer is still a dealer and has his own issues turns out that, exactly like everything else in society, where you start off pretty much determines where you end up and what you actually do doesn't change it much

I had 3 inseparable neighborhood friends during high school and 2 of them were huge stoners. One of them turned into a crazy as balls MRA dude who has no respect for women or any other people but has otherwise done very well for himself as an actuary. I never want to see him again. The other one had major issues after high school and failed out of community college. I met up with him recently and he's doing great in medical school in Atlanta with a committed girlfriend. Glad he got his act together. I had various other friends in high school and college who loved/still love weed, but they all have fairly boring, ordinary lives.

Lots of my friends turned out to be way more successful than they should have. Not that I’m bitter (I am). Can’t really fault them though. It’s just weird now to be like “hey guys want to hang out like we’re in high school?” And they’re like “no we’re adults”. And I’m like “well I was an adult when I was like 11 or some poo poo”. gently caress I need to get out more E: “people watching” is code for elitism, IMO

just want to repeat that I smoked as often as humanely possible, to drown out the schizophrenia, which was brought on by smoking so much pot, I had childhood trauma issues that led me to drown out emotions with substances in the first place but it really got full on after a few years of pot. I'm sober now and just slowly getting my life together. if you have any mental illness, even family history of it, excessive weed smoking is gonna put you in a bad place

Life is pretty good now working as a professional civil engineer--if mostly stagnate living in a (still expensive) rent controlled apt with my long-time gf and dog and no prospects of having enough money to ever afford a house or kids; and i've accepted that. but the world is going to poo poo and so i've started smoking again on the weekend using the weedpens which i've so far enjoyed mostly cbd ones and thc-heavy ones are etching a bit into too introspective but still fun. One I semi-kept in contact with is now the head of our chem lab at the cc where we worked at in college, so good for her, I think she doesnt smoke much anymore for similar reasons. Another one is a painter and i think started his own painting business and got married, seemed to be doing alright in a blue collar way but we haven't talked in years. The last one i do keep in some more contact with over steam, he was huge stoner who dropped out of cc to join the army, got stationed in germany and now married and still lives over there and works satellite ops or something. not sure if career-army is doing well or not but could do worse.
