I can't imagine five or six times would destroy the system. Obviously it was on its last legs anyway. Is it giving the yellow light of death? Lets see if we can fix this

There weren't any signs of it overheating while I was using it--the fan speed sounded normal for just browsing the xmb. I took the case off and cleaned a little bit of dust out but of course that didn't fix it. I'm thinking one of the chips just detached or possibly the hdd died? I tried booting it without the hdd but still get the ylod. I was looking at fixes for solder problems and everything short of reballing the chips sounds temporary.

i probably should have tried redoing the thermals on my 60gb instead of buying a super slim and then selling it but then it gets literally smashed to bits by ups

The PS4 was just hacked. You have to be on firmware 4.05, which is from a year ago, proving that my keeping consoles in a closet unused is NOT a mental illness (I hosed up this time and never got a PS4 ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_JGWokiIjA edit: PS4s still on this firmware go for over $450 now lol: https://www.ebay.com/itm/PlayStation-4-Launch-Edition-firmware-1-76-for-jailbreak/162831763838 Bernie Madoff levels of ROI Chumbawumba4ever97 fucked around with this message at 16:57 on Jan 28, 2018 |

net cafe scandal posted:Thanks but Im gonna wait for confirmation from the OP before I get too excited. I am sad to be the bearer of this bad news but a mere week after it did not matter what firmware you were on, it began to matter what firmware you were on when Sony released firmware 4.82 for the Playstation 3™ home video game console. Sony had not released a new firmware in over a year, with many speculating that 4.81 would be the last. But less than 176 hours after the hack was released, Sony unceremoniously released 4.82 to close out the loophole where it didn't matter what firmware you were on. The good news however is that almost nobody is going to be on firmware 4.82. I can pretty confidently say that if you buy a Playstation 3 on eBay, it will most likely not matter what firmware it's on.
