Yesterday I tried to fuel up my wife's car and the trunk release and fuel filler release levers were frozen solid and immovable, must've gotten moisture in them from tracking in on boots. In any case, managed to defrost it by turning the car into a sauna and then taking it to a heated car wash. Went back to the station after it was working again and fueled up before it refroze.

T3 was solid. I have mixed feelings about Salvation and Genisys.

I mostly liked Salvation. The bit when "Arnie" turns up had people cheer in the cinema.

Genisys I'd have liked more if they hadn't put massive honking spoilers in the trailer.

T3 was awful,

Sarah Connor Chronicles was great, though suffered from quite a few "meh" episodes.

They have been arseholes since the 80s and doubled down when they realised they had overextended themselves with a huge non franchised retail arm. Not even like the rules themselves haven't been decent for over a decade anyway. They just release more and more powerful things so whales will jump onto the flavor of the month and drop a couple more grand.

If they were smart they would consolidate the retail stores into larger regional places to go play the games/make stuff, provide classes and tutorials like they used to and cut back on production while selling licenses to their back catalog that provide the instructions for 3D printers to make the sprue. Become an IP company and make your money from selling books, modeling tools and their dumb paint. Of course they are not smart and will just reduce quality, up prices, poo poo on their staff and litigate resellers and anyone who looks at a 3D printer.

GW has, shockingly, gotten better over the last year. Still shilling plastic crack, but they're back to doing a ton of YouTube content, and the new rules are both good and getting errata in weeks instead of years. They've also resurrected a bunch of their specialist games stuff that was popular, like Necromunda and Blood Bowl.

We built with DR Horton 4 1/2 years ago and it was a pretty good experience overall. With a lot of friends that have gone through the home building process we didn’t have any of the poor experiences they had. I think we got a very good value on a lot of things and the house is one we can stay in for the rest of our lives. I would stop by a couple times a week while it was getting built and the area was swept clean after every day and garbage was disposed of properly. They had a two year ‘bumper to bumper’ warranty that we called them out to fix just a few little things that you’d expect with a brand new house and it was fixed promptly.

Home building and ownership; not all that bad.

Last time I had that issue, I decided I'd just anneal the original copper washer to re-use it.

That's how I learned that point-heating a paving slab with a blowtorch can cause it to explosively eject shrapnel.

Lmao, that's the moisture trapped in tiny pockets boiling, and the steam looking for an exit until enough pressure builds to create one.
