Gaethje vs Alvarez was incredibly great. The Overeem KO was incredibly sick. I'd favour Miocic but anyone who can crack like that has a chance so Ngannou might just win. The Aldo fight was just pretty depressing outside of Holloway being amazing as ever. Aldo's leg kicks at this point are a myth. They're not a weapon he's had in his arsenal like he used to for longer than he ever did. Aldo throws them, Rogan cums, Holloway doesn't care, Aldo sees that, throws less, Rogan cums, Holloway doesn't care, Aldo throws them less again, Rogan cums again the next time he throws another that doesn't do much. That gas tank that struggled for 5 at his best is now struggling for three, his punches don't have as much pop. The stoppage was pretty bad but I'm not gonna complain about it too much. Aldo was clearly done a good 20 to 30 seconds before the fight was called but he wasn't getting pummelled into the mat super badly. That's the fight game though, a young, hungry warrior comes along and the old guard get decimated.

In all the hype, it's easy to forget how good Miocic is and how Ngannou has only shown one extremely strong string to his bow. To make Francis favourite is pretty crazy, even if it wouldn't be surprising if he just lamped Stipe inside a round.

The funny thing about UFC 220 being Miocic v Ngannou, Cormier v Volkan is that the most likely way for both champs to lose is to basically put to sleep with one punch from hell. It'd be a fucker if both the main and co-main ended inside a couple of minutes.

A lot of people wrote off any chance of Volkan winning when the discussion was had quite a while ago before it was confirmed but the guy can crack and Cormier can get hit, even though he has an obscene ability to get back up and shrug it off like nothing happened. We've seen with Mark Hunt that eventually, the ability to get up from kill shots like nothing even happened goes away and goes hard.

He was a really good fighter but I don't know if people will remember him that way. When he lost it, he lost it bad. The way Lawler was able to just lift him up and move him a foot along the mat with that punch on the floor was just violence though. It wasn't a "Aljo/Overeem that guy is dead  " finish but it was still a nasty one.
