This Christmas get "Shoes"

A few thoughts-

1. Genuinely impressed at their ability to hunt down relevant clips, there must be a superfan on staff, which leads me to
2. Kinda depressed that I'm extremely familiar with a few of those sources; that 1994 Comedy Central Eddie Murphy Experience marathon was responsible for some obscure episodes in the tape-trading circles of old.
3. While I have never heard anything about Grodin's backstage decorum on the show, "forgetting his lines/missing rehearsal" et cetera was his whole schtick that week. Anyone who actually saw any of his appearances on Johnny knows he never broke character as a curmudgeon. But hey, maybe he was difficult backstage.
4. For the last time, Costello was not banned by Lorne, nor was he forbidden to play "Radio, Radio" by anyone on the show; Costello's record company wanted him to play "Less Than Zero."
5. Kind of a stretch to consider Andy Kaufman banned, but technically he was. If he hadn't died shortly after his :airquote: banning :airquote: I have no doubt he'd have been invited back eventually. Either way, I'd have replaced his position with honorable mention Milton Berle or unmentioned Louise Lasser.

Besides those few nitpicks, good list, I approve

And tonight's Vintage is - wait for it - unknown! Though I bet it'll be a Christmassy episode from some point in the last 5 years or so.

Edit: Oh, new page. Well, have a quickie vid for the craze of the minute:

Oh neat, vintage is the first full episode I ever saw. Getting anything beyond clips in the UK was never an easy thing, although I think they showed the season after this a few weeks out of date on one of the lesser channels.

People keep hiring them because they tell themselves "well, someone must like them, they're very popular." Only it turns out nobody does. We as a society have tricked ourselves into letting U2 onto our airwaves.

The only thing I know U2 from these days are the constant Bono commercials where he's warning that winter is coming to Syria and all the displaced children there need my money now.

Seth Rogan reminded me I forgot to apply for tickets this year, doh. Also he needs to do a sketch with Melissa Villasenor as they both have the same voice.

Pretty sure Charlie is based off the former janitor at my work (Archie), old guy who said exactly the same kind of poo poo. People were split over "he's just Archie" and "good riddance he creeped me out". Think he got fired for being crappy at his job though, not for being a creep.

You could almost hear the cheering progress from "Is that Jonah Hill? Oh cool, yay Jonah!" then a second wave of cheering for "Holy poo poo, he lost a Sam Smith worth of weight, nice work!"

I consider myself pretty hip to the musics the kids are listening to these days. I have never heard of this person. I am not impressed.
