December's shows - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hwstj9FJHGg There was some talk on her name in the last thread, this is a fun bit from a couple years ago about Irish names. Besides Saoirse and SZA, this month's got folks familiar to the SNL audience, so good times aplenty. And it's Christmas, the shows tend to be a little richer when everyone's got their break to look forward to. Tonight's Vintage is, once again, unknown. If the season so far is anything to go by, it will probably be from this decade There will be the SNL Christmas compilation show at 9/8c on Thursday, December 21st. SNL returns live on January 13th, 2018.

SNL just uploaded a new old cut sketch from the last time Franco hosted in 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzR8BERPczk Plus a couple promos to get you hype https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OHyy9q00zE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhV6wrcVLoY

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnizmsTW8ys A few thoughts- 1. Genuinely impressed at their ability to hunt down relevant clips, there must be a superfan on staff, which leads me to 2. Kinda depressed that I'm extremely familiar with a few of those sources; that 1994 Comedy Central Eddie Murphy Experience marathon was responsible for some obscure episodes in the tape-trading circles of old. 3. While I have never heard anything about Grodin's backstage decorum on the show, "forgetting his lines/missing rehearsal" et cetera was his whole schtick that week. Anyone who actually saw any of his appearances on Johnny knows he never broke character as a curmudgeon. But hey, maybe he was difficult backstage. 4. For the last time, Costello was not banned by Lorne, nor was he forbidden to play "Radio, Radio" by anyone on the show; Costello's record company wanted him to play "Less Than Zero." 5. Kind of a stretch to consider Andy Kaufman banned, but technically he was. If he hadn't died shortly after his banning I have no doubt he'd have been invited back eventually. Either way, I'd have replaced his position with honorable mention Milton Berle or unmentioned Louise Lasser. Besides those few nitpicks, good list, I approve And tonight's Vintage is - wait for it - unknown! Though I bet it'll be a Christmassy episode from some point in the last 5 years or so. Edit: Oh, new page. Well, have a quickie vid for the craze of the minute: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iU4J2FF23Do

I liked the last sketch enough, and I think that was Gardner’s first starring role? Also, those who stuck around until the very end, you saw a rare occurrence: The show actually went a few seconds longer past its scheduled end time, about 4, 5 seconds. I can’t say it’s never happened, but I can’t remember another time it did.

Will there be a goodnights from the Rockefeller Center skating rink this year? I sure hope so! Edit: yep, Baldwin stood in for Hart, who’s probably already on the way downstairs, and we’re getting a slow version of Everlong

Upcoming shows- 2018.01.13: Sam Rockwell with Halsey 2018.01.20: Jessica Chastain with Troye Sivan 2018.01.27: Will Ferrell with Chris Stapleton There's also a live show marked on the schedule for February 3, the last and only Saturday in February that isn't during the Olympics. Doing four live shows in a row is rare, but even rarer? Not having a live show in February. In fact, February is one of only two months, along with November, which has always had a live SNL since 1975.
