He did all that because he was angry she had a bad match? That's extremely hosed up. Wow.

There’s probably more to it than that, but it really doesn’t matter when someone does what Swann is accused of and in public.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that if someone is a danger to themselves you should probably call the police to intervene and also man handling your wife in public is bad

“I bet he had good reasons for headlocking his wife in the street” is not the hill I’d choose to die on, but cool

rose was a domestic violence charge brought against him for something that happened in his home without witnesses, and was given the kidnapping charge when he prevented her from using her phone. this is a case where he supposedly grabbed her, put her in a vehicle against her will, and she was screaming for help, which is imprisoning someone against their will. unless the witnesses retract or alter their statements during discovery, or the video footage clearly shows he didn't put his hands on her, he is done. He is not as well connected as lawler was with his recent incident or had a lack of evidence against him to get these charges dropped.

This is something that is often missed when covering domestic disputes. It is often framed as a partner “dropping the charges”, even though the only party that can decide to bring changes to a grand jury are prosecutors. What usually happens is an involved party refuses to testify or revises their statements to police.

That might work if the only witnesses are the victim and the accuser, but violence that happens in public is another matter. If there are third party witnesses there is more to hang a case on. Also, prosecutors have an obligation to protect the public.

Another factor to consider would be that most cases brought by prosecuting attorneys are pled out. Even if Rich pleads down to something else, it would have to be something like disturbing the peace or another vague charge in order to escape the language of WWE’s zero tolerance policy toward domestic violence.

And even if Swann gets lucky and he pleads down to a non-violent misdemeanor, do you think that WWE will renew his contract when it comes up?
