Stardust can be scarce; you'd be spending way too much to get a level 10 pokemon to max instead of just waiting and catching better and better ones as you go.

I didn't actually check to see whether "Community Day" was an event that actually lasted all day so I'm just now finding out it's only from 2-5pm EST Which would be okay I guess, if my plan wasn't to be out with my dad all morning doing a few errands and playing the game before he has to crash for his night shift job in the afternoon

You're not paying for those rewards, they're the rewards you get for doing a certain amount of daily quests (and the daily quests also have their own rewards attached to them individually, that you know about beforehand) It's absolutely nothing like lootboxes unless the most you know about lootboxes are 'they are a box, and they're bad' (and by the absolutely loving smarmy tone of your post that in fact appears to be the case here) edit: you also don't understand what machine learning is

The second level of the mythical discovery questline wants you to earn 2 candies walking around with your buddy and I might have to finally hang up my pupitar for something quicker 90.3km walked with him and still only 82/100 candy left, rip e: also I wish I still had GPS drift at my house again

Don't forget you need to walk a Feebas for 20km to evolve it, too, so you might want to finally get that out of the way also (though it's a 5km to candy just like Tyranitar)

I think the only thing that comes to mind about the quest system that I'd change is just to give out a random field research item every day if you have empty spots, just for the people who like the game but manage not to be close to a pokestop every single day (since Gyms don't give you one)

Oh, I don't like the fact that the stops give the same quest every day. I was limited to only things in walking distance today, so of course the one non-gym one by my house gave me "Visit 3 stops you haven't spun before"

Yeah people were really weirdly misreading my post, like I said it's just that the quest stays the same until the next day. On launch it was the really easy 'evolve a pokemon' and I wish I had saved it for the day I couldn't go anywhere, but that's hindsight
