So I guess we have a new contender to go up against the potoo for "bird that most looks fake."

Edit: gently caress I just looked it up and the wattle is retractable.

My local zoo added in a smallish peafowl exhibit. One peacock and about 4 peahens. We got to watch him walk up to each hen and do the feather flutter with about that same luck, we felt bad for the little guy at the end. Peacocks going their own way.
Used to volunteer at the local aviary and they had several peacocks and hens. The males were all neutered to prevent babby peafowl but they'd do full displays constantly. The females completely ignored them. Poor guys :smith:

This is the most ridiculous bird I've ever seen and I am so here for it. If its call sounded like Oasis I'd probably die of excitement.

e: the fact that there are Aussie birds in the background is a kick in the teeth. Why have I never seen one of these birbs.

Think that's a western silvereye or jilwidilang. They're cute as hell and fly around in small flocks. Like hanging out in vines along walls at least in my yard.

Common mynah, perhaps?

Birding thread in Pet Island can ID it. It helps to know the region.

Basket of Adorables

They look like Indian Myna birds
They have migrated to loads of places from Asia are considered an invasive pest in lots of places such as here in Australia.
They are noisy and aggressive, I have personally seen 3 of them attack a kookaburra on a few occasions now and knock it off it’s perch.

No crow as lawful good? What about that study where the guy wore masks and did mean stuff to crows and the crows told each other about the bad mask and then would attack him and stuff?

While out for a bit of exercise I met a man who was riding around picking flowers for his bike buddies to eat. We stayed a very safe social distance from each other but his lorikeets were very talkative and liked his meals.
