That is a Seriema, and they sometimes kill prey that way. So birb here is expecting the golf ball to go splat, and instead it bounces. The local aviary I volunteered at had a male and female named Ernie and Bert, respectively. This was a total accident, as Ernie's original cagemate passed and they acquired an already-named Bert from another facility. Bert also liked me very much and would often try to give me part of her dinner that consisted of dead mice.
