To understand what happened at the diner, we use Mr. Papaya. This is upsetting because he is the friendliest of fruits.

At this phase, I am just glad that the movie did not stop and burst into a musical number. Would have expected at least one Jawa on the casino planet, though.

Mark Hamill is a national treasure. That's right up there with his signed trading cards.

i liked the scene where luke astral projected himself and said "yo im actly not the last jedi get owned." that planet is cool btw they couldve done some cool stuff with the fighting and having the blood and red ice poo poo mix together so you dont know what is what in a confusing cacophany i think that cudve ruled.

also didnt like what they did with lukes character kinda gay and rest is alright. not a terrible movie or anything

The entire Empire was the Emperor's development. The Empire is the manifestation of his cruelty, with its superweapons and the excessive length they went to hunt down the Rebels.

The same can be said about Snoke, actually. He's poorly defined and unexplained and so is the First Order. Who is he? We don't know. How did he turn a remnant of the Empire into an even greater threat? We don't know. He's basically the Triple H of Star Wars, to use a wrestling analogy, and the First Order is the Star Wars equivalent of the boring wrestlers Triple H always seems to be pushing.

I can totally get that. I think considering Disney has been going back and trying to fill in gaps (like with R1) they did miss that entire part of the story, at least from what I can remember. The OT and the follow up trilogy made sense of the clone wars and where storm trooper etc came from which was a really interesting aspect for me. One of my favorite Star Wars movies was Clone Wars because it explained what happened in the OT, which I really liked.

Thank you for the rad discussion on this film, everyone! Which one is up next? The standalone Solo film? We should get another thread going whenever that comes out. I've a feeling the title will start off as "Solo: There's Something About Lando"
