Spider-Man's Amazing Construction Company
Sygyzy, God Of Telecommunication
Fate Points = 4

"That... sucked," Sygyzy opines, scowling a bit and brushing some (imaginary and representational) dog slobber off of his (imaginary and representational except it's also sorta real) pants leg. "I need to know more about BATSS Global, Maisie. They are up to what I can only call Shenanigans."

Waving off any attempts at comforting (Tanenbaum, A. S. (January 29, 1992). "Sygyzy is not a hugger". Newsgroup: comp.dcom.telecom. Usenet: 12595@star.cs.vu.nl.), the god (godlet?) starts to pace back and forth. "Right. This is good news, and I'm glad things are working out for you. I am! So, I need you to promulgate a new Commandment. This'll be, what, seventeen? So - 'if you try and trap Sygyzy He will nuke the poo poo out of your network infrastructure, so don't do that.' Also, I expect you're gonna get busy in the next few weeks, so I'm not going to ask you to do too much else on top of that. You're a good High Priestess, you know that, right, Maisie? You're good people, I appreciate you. Just wanted to make sure you knew that. Anyways, back in a bit." And then he promptly dives into the monitor, back into the datastream. He has Things To Do.

So, step one: use Telecommunications to start spoofing requests to the servers on which the Scripture of Sygyzy exists; not actually demanding data (and crushing poor Maisie's bandwidth), but making it look like a ton of people are looking for that information, so as to increase the visibility of Sygyzy in various search engines and "what's trending" algorithms. Get the name out there to the point where even the normies can start building familiarity, which can only help the efforts of my newly-active High Priestess.

Step two will be learning about BATSS Global, but that will have to wait for another post.

Mekhistos

Obviously, when things seemed to start going well, the human instinct to gently caress up things and plans reared its ugly head. This time the problem was represented by the Triad of the Bear, a gang composed of a mishmash of criminals from the Far Eastern Nations and the Northern Regions, adopting stylings and traditions from both seemingly at random, resulting in a weird criminal melting pot.
The first attack was at one of the warehouses where the finished product is stashed away, and the losses, while consistent, weren't irreparable: they only made out with the finished product, which no mortal chemist could hope to reproduce without access to the specially modified Nightshade plants. This was the gist of what Mekhistos explained to Nick when he passed by to give him the news, and it served to calm the Greek's nerves down just a little, because even if they weren't in danger of losing their monopoly, the slight could not be forgiven. The Family would deal with punishing the Triad, but Mekhistos wanted to make sure that further theft would be unadvisable. "The pendant I gave you. Make sure everybody dealing in Albacorvine wears one like it, and hang or paint its likeness wherever you stock the product. From now on, large quantities of Albacorvine kept together will grow more potent, to the point of lethality, unless they are in the presence of an effigy of the Beaked Mask. Trust me on that point, and make sure this little secret doesn't spill."

Using Drugs [+2] and taking a point of Spiteful to modify Albacorvine in the specified manner.

You arrive in the equatorial region of Nurada and are greeted by your VP of Nuradan operations. According to his briefing half a dozen wells owned by other companies have been attacked in as many weeks. Rumors abound of a new leader known as Veränderung. Strangely, he hasn't been heard from for over a week now. The corp that hired you to set these wells up hired an expert to beef up security, but he hasn't been seen either since he disappeared during a tour of the wells last week.

There has been an uptick in desert dwellers applying for jobs and trying to sell water the past week. If you want, he knows of several local operators who would probably be willing to sell for a song, hoping to cash out before being attacked. Or, he could have one of the desert dwellers he suspects is a spy for the rebels brought to you.

When the man returned, even more shaken than before, Marcus sidled up to him. "I see that you might be having some financial difficulty, you're never going to be able to make it up with this junk. However, I might be able to change that. The question is, what's that worth to you?"

"What's it worth? What's my life worth? Not much just now, unless you are interested in buying some first rate weapons at prices that can't be beat! No I didn't think so. I'd give everything I have to make my fortune..." everything is a very unfortunate thing to offer an aspiring demi-god. The poor fool didn't know what he was offering.

So, you've established that the guy is broke, so you can't squeeze money he doesn't have out of him directly. Other than that; you have him right where you want.

"I do wish you'd let me have them disposed of, sir. It would be much tidier. I'll set up the meeting."

James butles as efficiently as ever and arranges a meeting with the leaders of the three largest gangs in a very public location. Allianz stadium, the newest and largest football stadium in the country. It's just opened and leveraging your substantial wealth secured enough tickets for you and the leaders on opening day. You can even hide some of your drones amongst the news camera drones, although the majority of them will have to stay out of sight in a van in the parking lot.

You've got your meeting. The gang leaders are impressed by your display of wealth, take +2 to your next action involving them.

Sygyzy, God Of Telecommunication

Between Masie and your efforts, The Collected Words of Sygyzy are hitting the top of a lot of search results, bringing in new "believers". Most really really believe it's a joke, but its becoming a popular one, and you feel energized. There's a map that keeps trying to popup in the bottom right corner of your vision showing where Masie and Archie are every time they move.

Your new believers have leveled you up! Take a +2 to your existing trait, or Retribution +2 based on your actions and newest commandment, or write a new commandment to justify any +2 trait (all divine)

Mekhistos
Working your will at a distance is always difficult, especially for you with your focus on physical drugs, but everything aligned just right this time and your confident you managed to modify every ounce of Albacorvine in the city. Dead bodies start turning up throughout Bear Triad's territory. Miraculously, the city and cops just shrug and decide they don't care about more dead druggies (good roll). With each death you feel infinitesimally weaker as these are your drug addicts that are dying. This steady trickle of weaknesses offsets the gains made by the all the new holy symbols to you that have gone up to keep Albacorvine pure.

After a few days, the leader of the Bear Triad turns up dead (really good roll) with traces of unsanctioned Albacorvine in his blood. Nick the Greek brought you the news. "Sos its like this, see. With the Bear Triad's leader dead, they're ripe for the plucking, but there's gonna be some disagreement about who does the plucking, and that's like to get bloody. I remember youse talking about them Akademon warrior dudes taking Albacorvine to fight more better, but the guys, they're nervy about taking it 'cause of all customers showing up dead after taking it. Sos can you make us up some good stuff to really stick it to Ruskie gang? If we play our cards right, we could roll this whole city up into the palm of our hands, youse know."

Both Falling Owl and his seer, Voice of the Night Wind, are strong and pure in the faith of their ancestors, but not all the tribal members are so committed to the good of their community. Two run casinos and while most of the wealth is shared among the tribe, there is still enough wealth and power there to have begun corrupting them.

Not sure what you're looking for, feel free to write in some kind of corrupt dudes you can leverage, as long as it's not the two main opponents.

The thing about corruption is that it was very rarely far from power, and Falling Owl was the epicenter of power amongst the ewiiaabaayb. Who, then, ran the casinos? Who had the access and the clout to be placed in authority over them? Who did Falling Owl trust implicitly?

Who, but his own kin, his own flesh and blood? Eliam set about winning the casino controllers over, none other than Falling Owl's wife and daughter.

OLD MAN YELLS AT CLAN
Milton "Wally" Simmons FP = 1

The meet was still a few days off so the young godling decided to try an experiment. Taking three moderately expensive gold rings he laid them on the table in front of his computer display. The phone stuck to his head buzzed lightly has he reached put for that little spark of divine energy. It wiggled and rolled in his metaphorical grasp while he took some of that energy and began wrapping it around the rings. The power wouldn't need to last long, maybe a few months or so, but really it was impossible to tell how much would be. He was even sure if it would work at all.

------------'

Milton is as enthusiastic about sports as he about nearly everything, which is to say not very, but he knows he has to make an effort for this one. Well, a little anyway. Thinking of gangs he's seen in movies he puts of a dark blue track suit, orange running shoes, and a thick gold chain. He looked ridiculous, which is exactly what he was going for. Money without style or class. The track suit alone could be someone's car payment.

The three gang leaders were enjoying the private box Milton had purchased, under the watchful eye of some private security of course. Just to make sure there were no shenanigans of course. A couple of his disguised drones also lurked near the open balcony. Milton walked into the box with a bottle of expensive Champaign in one hand and a fat cigar in the other. Not that he actually smoked, but he had learned long ago nobody really inhaled cigar smoke so he thought it made him look cooler.

"Hey boys, enjoying the seats?"

Ok I want to try an infuse these rings with the power of Apathy. not necessarily to make permanent artifacts but hey, whatever. Milton's never tried this before. Apathy +4 to make the rings of power. Of course this requires effort Milton would rather not have to do so -2 Lazy applies.

Welcome back.

Apathy flows through you from hundreds of followers and on into the rings. As it does, you feel a sucking feeling in your mouth and lungs as if something is drawing the breath, the life out of you. The rings turn from gold to dull gray as you work on them and you can feel a spark of power in them that resonates with what you are coming to think of as your divine essence. The weakness and loss you felt when crafting them passes when you cup the rings in the palm of your hand.

James suggests spray painting them with gold, and it does work, but the paint flakes off after a few short hours. The rings returning to a flat, apathetic gray. You, or more accurately, James will have to repaint them just before the meeting, but they'll be as shiny as you could like for the meeting.

Double sixes! Epic success. You have your 3 apathy rings and they will work better than you expected. Gain a FP bringing you up to 2

Eliam, God of Religion FP:0 One time +2:1

You wield your silver tongue like a scalpel to slice through the layers of receptionists, middle managers, and assistants to reach the casino owners. Falling Owl's wife and daughter prove slightly more resistant to your eloquence, but only slightly and they soon come to see that the University is more useful to them as an educational center as long as the tribal youths can attend for free than it is as a burial ground.

Your old friend, Karanas, the Three Precepts of Learning, is willing to accept this condition. It's more interested in converting the students than making money in any case. Karanas offers to provide you with the location and identity of a potential high-priest as payment. Accepting would mean leaving the rich hunting grounds of Atlantica City, or if you wish to stay, Karanas will owe you a favor to be paid at a later date.

"I... I... guess? My... Lord?" The dealer, Joseph Silver stammers. He thinks to himself: 'pledge to his service? who talks like that. Does this weirdo know its not the middle ages? I don't give a gently caress. If he can save my skin I'll bow and scrape all he wants.' His response may lack certainty or eloquence, but he has accepted, and is now firmly in Marcus' power.

Fortunately, the suspected spy is expected to arrive today so you do not need to wait long before he is hauled into a conference room wearing hand cuffs and leg restraints. He puts up a brave front, but your long experience with these arrogant mammals who crawl on the crust of the planet reveals to you that it is just a front, and a thin one at that. You can sense faint traces of divine energy about him, but they are very faint. He has not seen his god in many weeks. You have seen this before, when a demigod died or abandoned his people. It's possible that is what has happened here, or his god could be focusing on a different rebel cell at the moment.

You can interrogate him further or try to persuade him to focus rebel attacks elsewhere as you please.
Good role to get information from him.

Marcus smiles at Joseph's response. It was clear the man had no idea what he was really signing up for, but Marcus knew just how to fix that. It was time for a miracle. "Take me to where you keep your stock, preferably someplace away from prying eyes."

Once they arrived, Marcus looked over the various weapons the man had acquired. They were junk, all of them, but they wouldn't stay that way. Closing his eyes, Marcus reached out with the power that dwelt inside of him. He could feel the defective junk masquerading as firearms, and taking it in imagined hands he began to reshape it. Where there had once been defective military surplus, soon there would be beyond top of the line small arms. Even he did not truly know what he was creating, for he was acting more on instinct than thought, but he could feel they would be an impressive sight indeed, with craftsmanship only the divine could dare attempt. For that is what he strove for, a miracle of such quality as to fully ensnare the heart and mind of his first follower, proof that he was in fact more than human, a being worthy of worship and devotion.

Marcus is getting Joseph to take him to some sort of back room or private area, than using his power over Guns[+2] to transform Joseph's defective military surplus into something amazing. Gaining 3FP to add [+6] to the roll, Marcus is aiming for a particularly fantastic miracle, more than is strictly necessary to hold up his end of the bargain because in his greed he wants to win Silver over completely, make a real zealot out of him.

I'll leave just what he makes from the junk up to you based on how well the roll turns out.

"Oh poo poo," Milton had muttered to himself after the rings were made. "I think I created the Grey Lantern Corps"

-------------

"Ok look, I realize I've somehow been getting on your bad sides and Im sorry." Milton was sitting between the gang leaders, who were thoroughly enjoying themselves on his dime. "I'll make a deal with you, you don't gently caress me up, and I'll stay away from your turf. Fair enough? And to seal the deal, I have these kickass rings. One for each of you. You wear them, I stay away. Simple, right?"

Milton took the three ring boxes out of the pocket of his hilariously overpriced tracksuit. "Go on now, take them and enjoy the rest of the game."

These three shall form the core of my new Geno Corp! Soon the way shall spread and more will join the path.

Down to the last two gods I think this game is done. Thank you for playing everyone!

Deadmeat5150: I initially thought your god was a joke app but I'm glad I took a chance on him, Wally was pretty fun to read about and try to set up scenes for.

Valhawk: I feel like you never really got to use your gods powers, and I'm sorry about that. I'm glad you tried something different though.

AJ_Impy: Eliam was an unusual demon god and you did a great job of making him evil without being creepy. Thank you!

DivineCoffeeBinge: It was fun playing with you, as always. I enjoyed Sygzy poking fun at himself and I'm sorry I struggled to set you up with good scenes.

LupusAter: Mekhistos played out exactly the way you advertised him and his contempt for his human helpers came through really clearly. Nicely done.

Shogeton: I like what you tried to do with Edea Mater and really enjoyed reading your dialogue scenes.

This was fun to play while it lasted. Wally was difficult to play as I had to find a motivation with a character that resisted motivation. He was more inclined to react to a situation that make one himself. I am sad my plans to revive the Geno Cult will never see fruition.
