Somebody noticed a subtle change in the OP. Rin goes from saying "No" to "I'll think about it."

I love this show so much.

reminds me of School Live (which... it must be emphasized... is still kind of slice of life but not chill) ... that seemed to constantly tweak the OP between episodes.

Whether the changes were plot-driven or character development is up to debate and probably not for this thread

I expect by the end it'll be upgraded to "sure."

Also I've been meaning to ask if anybody knows what kind of knife Rin's cleaver-machete is? Or is that just how they make machetes in Japan? It's mainly because that downward angled grip is wielding me out.

Some Yurucamp fanartists seem to have gotten really interested in Rin's bun. I'm okay with this.

Seems that's just how they make 'em in Japan. It's actually quite interesting to see how wood axe development adapts to different needs around the world.

That scene in the restaurant, where Rin is just having this quiet moment while everyone on her phone has a silly argument, kinda encapsulates the entire show. I love that she ignores everyone and just gets what she wants.

Nadeshiko has wormed her way under her skin, and is making her like group camping despite herself. Nadeshiko might be the one getting what she wants most of all really, and in this episode alone manipulated both Rin and Chiaki. Hell, Rin is dreaming about Nadeshiko and dream Nadeshiko was helping her despite herself.

Weirding. I was tired. :v:

I'd imagine a lot of it has to do with not only materials (what's available to make the blade and what's being cut) but also the local idea of how you're supposed to cut stuff. Eg, European saws cut on the push forwards while Japanese saws cut on the draw back.

Also I found this video from a Japanese hunter using one:

I wonder if they’re going to have to deal with bear related stuff like bear boxes or bear canisters. The last episode had mentioned bears in passing, at least.

or if they go the extra mile and try to hang their food, which hardly anyone does (as far as I know)

I have a bear canister that was extra annoying to open in cold weather. It was frustrating since I had spent so much time getting used to opening it at home, only to look like an idiot when doing it in the field.

Felt like this week's episode moved a lot faster than usual - I guess to make room for plenty of CHRISTMAS CAMPING next time.

Still, there was Rin sassing her (apparently possessed) dog charm and Nadeshiko unmasking the true identity of their teacher so it's all good.
