Hello, wrestling fans! It's time once again to discuss the best, and worst, of professional wrestling from the year gone by. The ballot is below, but first, some guidelines:

DO NOT POST YOUR BALLOT IN THE THREAD. Email your ballot to TheWrestleHutAwards at gmail dot com.

The voting period for these awards is January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017.

Also, if you could, please use first and last names for wrestlers, and dates or event names where applicable. I didn't watch a ton of wrestling this year, and if you just vote "that one great six-man at NJC" for Match of the Year, I probably have no idea what you mean. Thanks!

This was a huge year for disgusting promotional tactics. One of the all time greats.

My vote goes to 5 Star Wrestling for announcing multiple shows they sold tickets for, and then cancelled and wouldn't offer refunds on "delayed indefinitely" before finally admitting the shows were cancelled when they could use a terrorist bombing as an excuse

As mentioned previously, WWE continues to lionize Warrior, one of the more repugnant figures in modern wrestling history.

On top of that, WWE spends a full month every year promoting the Susan G. Komen Foundation, which is essentially the Warrior of cancer charities.

Also, and again this was mentioned earlier, WWE briefly parted ways with one of the best announcers in professional wrestling after his mental illness made it impossible for him to work under WWE’s horrendous business culture. After a large public backlash that garnered some national media attention, WWE scapegoated one of the announcer’s abusers, and brought the announcer back, albeit with a demotion from his previous role.

Lastly, and this is more a culture thing than a single incident, WWE continues to deny most of its employees the right to even call themselves employees, which exposes them to huge amounts of risk and subjects them to undue burdens, both mental and financial.

It's something that WWE is so lovely (and yet people here still give them money) that they overshadow AAA bringing back Sexy Star and her injuring Rosemary with an armbar.

I know AAA is pretty big for Shittiest Thing a Promotion Did but can we just call it a wash and instead vote for Michael Elgin's Glory Pro? or Michael Elgin for... a whole lot of things he did (making GBS threads on his own tag partner for being better than him, making GBS threads on war machine, everything to do with the surprise sex)
