The problem with Black Mirror isn't that it's repetitive, it's that it's bad. I didn't watch 50 Million Merits and think "oh, how predictable," I thought "holy moly, this loving sucks."

I have been watching some of Great News and am surprised I hadn't heard much from the people at SA. It's pretty much a spiritual successor to 30 Rock and Kimmy Schmidt, with Tina Fey producing it and the head writer being 30 Rock alumni. Although it's a little bit more generic, each episode has one or two gags that really catch me off guard.
It's very good, and the episode where characters whine about political correctness is much better than every time a Fey show tried to address it.

I don't know about my greatest of all time, but I'm a sitcom nerd, so my top five are all sitcoms. Descending order:

30 Rock
Parks and Recreation
Arrested Development
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
Community

Good Place is getting up there, though, this season has been insanely strong. Others I liked a lot in no order: Apartment 23, Venture Bros., Bob's Burgers, Great News, Difficult People, Fresh Off the Boat, Bojack Horseman(?)

Yep! That's not saying I don't watch older stuff, but a lot of the listed shows have a similar style. Comedy is a product of its time. I didn't say they were the best of all time, just personal favorites.

Some of it's also probably viewing habits, since I tend to stream stuff in chunks like a lot of people.

I love watching lovely "investigation" shows. I've been watching one called Nightmare Next Door, and the last episode was really gross. It was about a girl that got murdered, but the narrator insisted on sexualizing not only her, but all young girls. Actually phrases: "little Lolitas" "little beauties" "brown-haired beauty" "blue-eyed dreamer," it's seriously creepy.

Speaking of shows that went downhill due to bad character writing, I watched The Mindy Project with my GF for a while, and while it wasn't anything amazing, it was at least good. And then there was Danny. Danny started out as kind of an rear end in a top hat, then turned out to be an rear end in a top hat with a heart of gold, then turned, very suddenly, into a selfish, abusive piece of poo poo. I heard there was some behind-the-scenes stuff where they wanted to write the character out, but it just ended up making the show unwatchable. I didn't hear good things about it overall after that point, so presumably it stayed bad.
