I've been wondering about this for a while but why does Pope always draw Turnbull with that tin can Top hat?
Everyone draws Turnbull with a top hat because he's incredibly rich. Pope's tin can top hat is because Turnbull used to be Communications Minister where his main act was to take the previous government's National Broadband Network scheme and turn it into complete shite.

Australia Day is around the corner and there is growing debate about whether we should change the date (as currently it is on the day of the arrival of the colonists on the First Fleet), also a treaty with indigenous Australians.

Kudelka:

The Uluru Statement was the result of a public consultation process with indigenous peoples about having a voice in parliament which the government promptly discarded.
Also of interest with Kudelka is his cartoon takes the same spot as Leak's in the Australian, right above the letters to the editor about how Trump tells it how it is.

The best bit is McCoy's example of a person obsessed about discussion Trump appears to be a member of the White House press corps, like he's miffed they aren't spending more time discussing the interior design.

I've seen people rag on conservatives for enjoying the suffering of their opponents but I think we're lying if the other side doesn't do the same thing. Plenty of people were talking about drinking "republican tears" when Romney lost.
It's weird seeing it in cartoons though. I'm used to cartoons where their favoured politician is doing a specific good thing, economy soars, support are troops etc. while the opponents are off to the side looking sad. It's odd seeing a whole series of cartoons where it's the president giving his opponents a wedgie as the main piece of insightful commentary.
