Nap Ghost

I think Tamatoa's design is really uninspired and his "bit" in his arena is really lazily done.

At one point I gave an example of how I'd have approached Tamatoa. Not, like, specifically, but stuff like having the treasure on him be lopsided. He could have had a more interesting gait.

poo poo, other than the fact that it's missing his heterochromia, that design's way better.

Here's another foreign language version of a Moana song I like:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KUaaBlo1Wc

He's more of an experienced singer than the Rock and kind of takes it more seriously. I also like the refrain "for humans" instead of "you're welcome" because it's less on-the-nose yet a more effective guilt trip.

Personally I think the movie gets too clever at times.

Chicken has to be told not to eat a rock.

The Rock has to be told not to eat a chicken.

Har Har, Disney. Yes, we get it.

You're not wrong. He's also missing a leg and hobbles around it as he dances, and he has David Bowie heterochromia. He's probably my favorite Disney villain design of all time.

Somehow I missed the Heterochromia, wtf. Now I have to go watch it AGAIN.

David Bowie was punched in the eye he was a teenage which resulted in permanent damage that made his pupil constantly dilated which made it look like he had heterochromia. A condition where your eyes are two different colors.

The crabmonster has heterochromia.

And every character in In The Heights was purposely corny or awkward so I don't think a flat reading of those lyrics is entirely fair.

Cheerleading, you say?

(sung)
Okay, so women who wouldn't give me the time of day
Are startin' a squad and they want me to play?
And if I play, I'll be famous?
Gimme a hard one, these are no brainers!
I don't know what these other brothers are thinkin'
They must'a been drinkin', get it and let it sink in!
What are y'all scared? Y'all think cheerin' is feminine?
Then I'm a feminist swimmin' in women, gentleman

Tamatoa and his song are obviously Bowie inspired, right down to Jemaine Clement doing his Bowie impersonation singing the song
