So im still grappling with Ground Zeroes and the PC control setup. My most effective attempts for far involve running at the enemy and punching them and then dumping their bodies in bushes.

Is there a way to change my camera view when I'm hiding in the back of a truck so I can see where I'm riding to?

I can't imagine playing that game on something other than a controller, personally. I don't even want to know what the multiple rotary menus turned into.

IIRC you just look around? Sounds super weird to hear you say you're having control issues. The only problem I remember is that sensitivity doesn't scale with zoom, which makes the binoculars and sniping less precise than they should be.

Ground Zeroes does have a few control flaws relative to TPP, but it's still fine really. No reason to use a controller, TPP in particular plays great on M/K (the menus could be better, but they're still better than on controller).

Some of the aiming and binocular binds are just awkward for my left hand especially since I can't toggle binoculars and have to hold down F.

I'm getting better at it and I like that theres a dedicated "throw myself forward to hit the deck" button but it certainly feels like they were scratching their heads trying to come up with a keyboard setup that works and also feels ergonomic. It's just not quite there for me being a native keyboard player. I'll keep trying or I'll pull put my Xbox controller.

I'm loving how freeform it is. I blew up an AA gun, baited a bunch of guards to the site and then tossed a grenade at them before running like hell.

Wait, you actually have an Xbox controller to hand? I assumed you were struggling through the awkward keyboard controls because you didn't have any other choice.

The PC controls are very good, actually. Aiming with a mouse and keyboard makes the already trivial difficulty disappear entirely.

Finished a playthroigh 1 of GZ. Got a little messy at the end when the guards responding to me blowing up the AA ended up driving their APC and parking it right where I had set the LZ. Now comes the other missions I guess and a more in depth run that isn't me fighting with controls and forgetting I have the iDroid.

Can you get a silenced pistol other than the tranq gun?

That's the only pistol. You can find a suppressed MRS-4 if you don't start with one (depends on difficulty) and there's a suppressed SMG you can find and unlock by completing the other missions.

Decided to go right into Phantom Pain. I liked the opening with lady Psycho Mantis and Burning Man Colonel Volgin a lot.

But now I've rescued Kaz and I'm just doing busy work against the Soviets. I did find it funny when I tried to interrogate a guy and Kaz told me I was an idiot because I don't speak Russian. So I snagged the interpreter side op.

When I interrogate people and they say they have a specialist nearby how do I identify them? I did the mission where you blow up the CP radio equipment but I didn't know which soldier was the gunsmith specialist so I ended up Fulton-ing like ten troops back to Mother Base but all their stats were crap.

I did get a puppy called DD.

The way you ID people is with an upgraded version of the binoculars, one upgrade tells you that they have some sort of special attribute, another upgrade lets you see exactly which one it is.

I hadn't done an Event FOB for months. I did one just to see if the little rank 1 outfits you can get will add to your development score for PF battles. One of the outfits I use event points on turned out to be a FOB only outfit. Cost the same amount of points as the regular outfit. Same amount to development (1000 GMP). But instead of 5 minutes to complete, it takes......6 days. lmao.

And FYI, the outfits do add to your PF score.

Was it one of the swimsuits?

The event FOBs seem to be the best way to get S++ guys. They're also super easy, the only one thats any hard is the "bound dragons" one (or whichever one the guards have face shields). I ran the "skulls attack" one like 15 times and I could finish it in less than 5 minutes while getting all the bonus objectives and a million dollars at the end.

The PF battles are ruined by the people who clearly hacked themselves the maximum number of tanks and walker gears and just obliterate every opponent.

The event FOBs are a horrible grind for S++ combat guys, which are the only S++s you really need. You need a complete perfect run on all platforms on hard to get your one set of S++ combat guys. They cost half as much with PF points. Event points should be used to stock up S+ guys.

I’ve gotten to where I can hang in AAA+ amongst the cheaters without any cheating myself. I’ll last 2-3 weeks before getting relegated to AAA. I’m working on finishing off all my platforms and that should raise my scores up high enough to stay in the top tier.

The 6 day clothes is some kind of wetsuit looking thing. It’s not the bikini briefs.

Like all of my S++ guys came from cheater FOBs. I invaded one a couple days ago that had some female S++ security guards with a prosthetic arm upgrade as their skill lol.

So while I'm jumping back and forth between GZ and TPP and going through the cassette tapes. Huey is a gigantic idiot for going over Kaz and Boss's heads and agreeing to the inspection even though there were several glaring issues that made it suspicious. The whole thing was set up to fail and Huey made it possible because he's an idiot. Surprised that Kaz didn't want to strangle him rather than Paz or Chico.
