Or yeah, old JRPGs where you just need the d-pad and the x button forever.

PeaceWalker owned but like with any other Metal Gear game it's a case of "This game owned, except for..."

EE in MGS2 was creepy for sure, but she was an 18 year old woman who didn't dress as a school girl. Plus you could fast forward the codecs so you didn't need to hear her lusting after her step-brother in your subsequent playthroughs! I'm pretty sure the fan base hated her almost as much as Raiden when the game came out though, since she was the subject of that most dreaded of missions, an escort mission.

MGS2 is still my favourite as you can simply fast forward or skip all the inanity and focus on the mechanics. Before I even knew about 100% runs or speed running I was just running the game over and over again to see how fast I could beat it or to get all those bloody dog tags. And I found it super fun.

Huey was always that bad, yes. After you rescue him from Coldman in Peace Walker, immediately he starts pestering you about also securing Strangelove and then as soon as she arrives starts hitting on her secretly with love notes formally addressed to you. Dude was portrayed both as lovesick and a little manipulative.

Upon arriving at mother base, he claims he's done with weapons development and wants to help Snake turn ZEKE into a world defending bipedal robot... And then he equips it with nuclear arms without Snake's permission to prove a point about how having them surely equals deterrence.

Having just finished Peace Walker (again) last night it's stupider than that - Kaz says they've dug up PW's nuke from the bottom of the lake and suggests "we could leave it on a boat in the middle of the ocean, where no one would ever find it" and Snake grumbles and assents to putting it on Zeke. Like, what the gently caress Kaz, people would find that poo poo in five minutes!

Regarding the overall plot the main issue I have is with Zero - Metal Gear 1 through to Metal Gear Solid 3 was about Solid Snake and Big Boss, and then suddenly we're supposed to give a poo poo about Zero who turned evil off-screen? Especially with the framing that Big Boss is a villain, it feels like going "oh but here's an even bigger villain!"

I'm streaming MGSV at the moment and whenever I settle in to play a tape while doing something, I get a bark from Kaz or Ocelot that takes precedence over the tape. I swear the game says nothing for hours and then you're listening to a tape, and it's all "Boss, a helicopter is a flying platform..."
