Agreed protein powder is pretty much made for this issue its why it's a "supplement".

I use an app to track my calories and macros. So i plan meals on a Saturday morning and make sure they're all controlled and then buy the ingredients for the prep on Sunday afternoon.

I then add in a protein shake on the days I'm short of protein in my macros. If im short on carbs I don't bother, if I'm short on fat I eat some avocado or add a spoonful of olive oil to a salad with some balsamic.

Prior preparation is key though. Myfitnesspal is pretty helpful for adding food in and it has some handy features like recipe tracking, creating meals so you don't have to individually add items. I'd advise a kitchen scale too though and good measuring things for tbsp etc so you can be accurate. Certain things can add up fast.

This is what I've been doing. I've got the calories down just need to tweak the protein up

Are there any managers in here? I’m wanting to ask something/rant just because of the absurdity of it and see if I am just overreacting.

I have a guy through a staffing agency who is a quick learner and is doing a pretty good job. It’s hard to find good help in the location I am in and the job has a really steep learning curve so when I find someone worth keeping I do what I can to keep them around. However here is my problem, on a personal level, this guy is the complete opposite of myself and the others in the department which means I don’t let things go to far off work topics. He is a huge Trump supporter, he proceeded to tell me one day how Trump is bringing “morals” back to USA and that he is getting things done. He wanted to give me a list of all the great things Trump has accomplished so far and it would take an hour to list them all if he talked about it. The next thing is he is a conspiracy theorist and tries to start in about chemtrails and anti-vaccination which means his youngest kid isn’t vaccinated. I really have a problem with it on a personal level as to me it’s stupid not to vaccinate your kids. He mentioned today about flat Earth theory and asked us what we thought about it, one of my guys asked him what he thought about it since we all expectedhim to say he believed it. Thankfully he said he didn’t but his wife does. At this point I feel like I’m being just weird but have you ever disagreed with someone you employ on a personal level so much that it makes you question if you should keep them?

For me this is only an issue if the person can't shut up about sensitive topics at work. I realize under Trump it's really really loving hard so that's probably changed but if he's going to bring up conspiracy theories every day, yea I'd definitely think about it.

This is good advice. I've also found if you sous vide a bunch at once the ones that come out of the fridge and get seared are a little better because the inside is just warm by the time the outside sears.

I started putting a little bit of whatever protein (grilled chicken, pieces of gilbert's chicken sausages) into a muffin pan and then cracking an egg over the top with a very small sprinkling of cheese, salt and pepper. Oven at 350 for about 5-7 mins based on your preferences and then heat for 30-45 seconds in the microwave the next morning. It's solid and delicious.

I find the gilbert's sausages and wrapping it in plastic wrap keeps it from drying out.

I think we both fundamentally agree that almost regardless of what happens, outside a shooting war, the democrats will likely win a fairly resounding wave victory over '18 and '20.

That said, unless they fundamentally change what they support and who they champion, I fully expect them to give control right back to the Republicans over the following 8 years, and just hope they don't find a competent fascist to climb atop the pile.

I think there is fundamental change coming to the Dems in the form of angry young progressives running for seats and doing pretty well getting them. That and every year means less Boomers voting and more of the most liberal/left generation in 100 years.

The bi-partisan centrist bullshit is not remotely popular with the soon to be largest generation of voters.

Unions, like many organizations, have a lifecycle and are the most valuable early on. Later in their life cycle they run into a lot more problems because they have to always be pushing for more and those in charge are ever more disconnected from the regular worker.

Basically factories in the south desperately need unions and Detroit unions probably need to refresh.

I've always hated the "someone's got it worst than you" spiel because it's literally always true but it doesn't make your current lovely situation any less lovely.

The way I explained it in the military was in graph form.

<-lovely-------------X------------------------------------------O----------------Neutral-----------------------------------------------------------------Amazing->

Let's say you're the "O" and some dude in prison is the "X". Just because you're much closer to Neutral than someone else is doesn't mean you're out of the poo poo. Something can be bad but not the worst. That doesn't mean it can't be bitched about or more importantly be improved upon. As a miserable person I assume I can never get to the right side of the graph but I'll be damned if I don't try to hit Neutral.

Plus the reverse also holds true for those feelings of inadequacy. If things are pretty good but some friend on Facebook's life seems amazing it doesn't mean you can't appreciate that things are currently good for you even if they aren't the best.

Yea this is a huge issue the party has right now. They're still far too tied to money and money is inherently for protecting the status quo.
