I think Surge was indeed consulted for this new movie. He's getting money from it, probably. Anyway, can you people guess what upcoming movie this picture of Ben Mendelsohn is from? Robin Hood

Remember when whichever studio wanted the Ridley Scott movie from a few years ago to be the start of the Robin Hood Shared Cinematic Universe? Crossing over (presumably after Little John: A Merry Men Story, Will Scarlet: A Merry Men Story, Guy of Gisborne: Origins, Friar Tuck: Back In the Habit etc.) with... I don't know, Ivanhoe probably?

Cinematic universes weren't even a thing beyond Marvel when Scott's film came out.

I heard about someone wanting to make a Robin Hood cinematic universe and assumed it was the Ridley Scott one.

Also lmao those costumes look so clean Jamie Foxx is Little John, not sure if he's going to be Moor or if they are just not having a Moor character in this one. It's becoming a tradition though every studio has to roll their own as he's not public domain like every other character.

The original script for that film had the Sheriff of Nottingham as the main character and Robin Hood as a local outlaw who is believed to be responsible for a number of murders. It has a strange whodunit/detective film vibe to it. It's a film I want to see so loving bad.

Funny you say that because there are quite a few Uncharted moments, not just in Uncharted itself but imitators, that make me think of that mobile command lab RV thing hanging over the cliff in Lost World. Which is obviously another Spielberg movie. Not to mention all of Indiana Jones.

One of them even seems to be translating Japanese to English ("It's gonna be a fight!"). I think you're right about the language joke ("I wish someone spoke his language"), but I'm still sort of confused. I guess when a dog speaks English it's barking translated for the audience, but human speech is just going to be whatever it sounds like. Dubbing this movie is going to be weird, much like Inglorious Basterds.

This is kind of hard to google, but a looking breifly at a Japanese cinema's website they've got subtitle showings for most stuff, but Star Wars has a dubbed showing as well. So you may be right? Or maybe it's only worth dubbing the larger features. Huh, the subbed showing is in 2D and the dub is in 3D. I wonder if they hate looking at subtitles in 3D as much as I do.
