That match would've made sense to me as Alexa walking out/getting herself DQed or Asuka squashing her to death, but I am deeply confused about why they just had them do this straight match out of nowhere with no stakes for no reason.

Even if this is leading to a Royal Rumble title match instead of Asuka being in the rumble, you still have 3 shows before the PPV and starting with a straight clean loss this early is dumb. That said Alexa always loses clean then wins at the PPV so rip Asuka, she was always bad.
