There was a 6-man shootout in Catfish Grove within 30 seconds of the match starting, and then a followup 6-man shootout on one of the roads inbetween Slaughterhouse and Healing Waters

I read a tip recently that the horses and steam boat will make some noises when being camped by other players, but I've never really seen myself trigger that. Does anyone have more info on that--what exactly triggered the boat to sound off like in the following clip? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmR2BMkMSVA&t=60s. That's the first time I've heard it go off like that. I'm guessing if a player stays within a particular proximity for some period of time (but outside of the extraction radius) ? If two non-allied players are within proximity (30 feet, 40?) of an extract, the horses will make noise or the boat will start up. Basically if you're running to an extract and it starts making noise, you've either got a fight coming or run the other way. It's also a good indicator of if you're being chased once you get there.

Are the 3 shots that go off in this clip from the silenced Nagant? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMhdYlQ-eBE. I might have to re-think my usage of it a bit if it's actually pretty audible from a distance . The lack of muzzle flash is still great though for plinking away at unsuspecting folks in water. Also, I take it that there's nothing in the user interface that I'm missing to convert a pair of 25-health bars to a 50 heath bar, is there? I've been doing quick "burn runs" when a hunter has a surplus of upgrade points. Edit: vvvv Thanks again. I'm on my lovely work computer but those sounded more like very distant shots to me. The silenced nagant can be heard, but you have to be fairly close (like within the same camp). It's just about at the same distance you can hear a zombie or hive agro / die - but perhaps just beyond where you would hear sprinting footsteps. From a personal experience: you can hear the silenced nagant being used on the south side of the church from the south side of the rotunda at the north side of the church.

I finally got to test "fanning" a bit last night. 1) Does not work if you are looking down sights - you have to be hip-shooting. 2) Does not work on Nagant precision. Seems like Caldwell chain and Caldwell uppercut are the best two to be using with it. I only managed to waste one Tier 1 guy who was carrying a bounty and trying to escape with his buddy. His friend died to a hive running from my bulletstorm. I need to get some more runtime vs. Tier 3's and the like. It seems like there's actually a "sweet spot" with regards to engagement range where fanning might be very good. If you're close enough to make rifle sights hard, yet far enough where shotguns are not 100% effective then you are going to put most hunters in a really poo poo situation. They'll have to decide whether they want to charge at you with a shotgun (bad if you are packing a Caldwell uppercut) or run from you to get distance (also bad in most situations.)

There's some crates there which can sometimes have an armored hiding behind. If I only had the Dexter Sgt. Doaks: "Surprise Motherfucka!" to play over the mic.

I've gotten my money's worth so far - but I hope they get some more features and optimization in soon. Right now I'm sitting on Bloodline Rank 100 and 16,000 dollars. I see no reason to prestige other than the challenge of trying to take on the world with a Tier I and a Winfield. Some people have prestige'ed a couple times with the *expectation* that some rewards are forthcoming - but I think I need more convincing to let go of the 10 Mosins in the bank.

Bought this today, and aside from the hellfucked wait times on match making I think I am in love. Really enjoy the pacing and the aesthetic. Hopefully when I am not trying to play in the middle of a workday there are a few more people queuing up?

I also continue to absolutely love this game. Did not bother to download the test server client because the game runs like a dream on my overpriced computer. Im still pretty low level, and looking forward to unlocking some of the higher tier guns. I got absolutely bushwhacked by someone with what I assume was the mosin-nagant, it took my max health hunter down to just a sliver in a single shot. "Luckily" I ran to cover and then got killed by a dog, so at least I denied the guy a kill. But since I haven't unlocked the health consumables yet, taking a hit like that is pretty much a death sentence.

Many people get hit and then start looking around for the shooter. Sometimes they catch a quick glimpse of me before the second round connects.

I had pretty good performance before the patch, but it is noticeably better. Especially on ADS I used to have a pretty jarring frame hitch, as well as some weird texture popping before the patch. As a Californian, the biggest change actually came before the performance patch, when they consolidated US West and Central. Matchmaking times are night and day improved. When I first picked this up I almost refunded it after having to wait more than five minutes to even find a partner, let alone a match. Now every time I queue up I am in game inside of 3-4 minutes, not including the massive load in time of course. I wonder if it is worth migrating over to my SSD, sure I will load faster, but there will always be at least one slowbie in the match that everyone has to wait for.

I bought this yesterday (I just built a PC so all of these games that have been on my radar are priority) and I was wondering -- are people playing this still? I got into a match and the experience was intense and it didn't take long to get into a match but you never know how many other groups are on the map so I am not sure how full the map was with other teams. It'd be a shame if this was to die out because it seems like a fun experience. I don't really know what I am doing so I was sneaking around solo avoiding monsters and collecting clues for 20 minutes. Then I see the “THE SPIDER IS BEING BANISHED” and it was happening in a church right near where I was. I ran there, snuck through a graveyard (!) and came up to the church. I was looking through dirty windows into the sanctum and heard a guy whisper “I think someone is here” and then BOOM some hillbilly with a shotgun shot me. I fired a couple of shots back at him but he shotgunned me in the face. I heard the guy go “Yeah… I got ’im. Did he have a partner?” as the screen faded to black. Proximity chat seems great. I can't see playing this game all the time due to the stress of sneaking around in the dark amongst monsters and men (clearly the real monsters) but I really did enjoy what I endured last night.
