its possible he had low blood sugar levels which can make you feel cold although i doubt it. but his arms were shaking during the later rounds which means his muscles were starting to misfire, either a sign of deep fatigue or hypoglycemia. its normally something that happens during long efforts of 2 hours+ though. but sometimes you do feel paradoxically cold during hard efforts, not to mention some athletes swallow ice to lower their body temperature before performing. although if you ask me i think the coach was just tucking him into bed for the night

Was that really ever in question? I just presumed that they must have been soaked in cold water first, otherwise it makes no sense.

Really though they look like dry fluffy towels both live and in the photos.

I agree that deliberately unintelligible characters are really funny stock characters but they have to be used correctly. Too much overexposure renders their speech mannerisms less humorous and more commonplace. Farmer Fran didn't speak too many times in the Waterboy and only had a one-scene cameo in Joe Dirt, while even Boomhauer seldom speaks more than once per episode. I dont think Stipe doing more media would "put him over" as you say.

I was thinking about posting something about how this joke is getting tired, and should be reserved for Tito Ortiz, and then i heard Stipe say this:

Good spot, though I think it should be qualified that Conor operating at arm's length still gives him more time and distance than other fighters just thanks to his reach.

Every one of those examples has Conor coming forward or with his opponents back to the cage. I have a hard time imagining Khabib in the same situation considering what we've seen in his last two fights.

I can't believe WWE Raw and the UFC are the exact same age. Not sure which I thought would be older but it's still surprising. I guess I thought Raw would be older considering the respective age of the two "sports". Are there any plans for a big 25 year special like they did with their 20 year celebration? That doco was cool.

In a few of the exchanges, he is standing and pops back after reaching out and decided the opponent is coming in. Yeah, it's not necessarily a scenario that'll come up with how fast Khabib comes in. On the other hand, he can spend all his time trying to zero in on Khabib's head which is right there.

I still think there's not a huge amount you can extrapolate from Mendes, who took him down repeatedly, then eventually just collapsed against the fence from exhaustion before Conor actually knocked him down.

I remember him being the one boring wrestleboxer in the whole of the WEC's roster. His top game might be even worse than Hendricks, certainly as ratioed against his takedown game.

Conor also uses lots of body kicks/no chance spinning kicks to keep guys standing far enough out of the pocket that he can see them coming from a mile away. The post doesnt work quite so great against south paws because its a lot harder to land the left. The fight im most interested to see has always been rda/conor, but nate answered a lot of the south paw questions

Khabib is bigger but his punching range is pretty short, and Chad usually did a good job of maximizing his shorter reach.

Looten Plunder

I'm no expert but I feel like Khabib's punching range would be pretty good. He tends to lean forward/into his punches rather than stand back on his heels, wouldn't that mean his real world reach would be better than his on-paper reach?

He got waaay better at fighting once he was in the UFC. WEC Chad sucked. UFC Chad is actually pretty drat good.
