but people that want to win through straight up pew pew peeks tend to just use a flash hider for short burst insta-kills. DMR users tend to default to the muzzlebreak. attacking face to face with a silencer will put you at a disadvantage against an equally skilled oppenent so it is essential to embrace tactics

the lowered damage when suppressed can be noticeable (especially at long range) but pretty much every gun in the game will kill someone in 1-3 hits so its largely personal preference and the type of fighting you want to do. the map can make a big difference too.

delta is right about headshots but i personally think that silencers are also a good way to compensate for bad "potato" aim. the way i've always looked at it is that if your aim is excellent you are going to connect those first few bullets from your flash hider burst for an insta-kill anyway.

if you miss, this will give the opportunity for the enemy to counterattack. suppressors not only make it harder to hear where the gunshot is coming from but it also reduces the tracer effect. this can seriously give you the extra split second you need to adjust your fire or disengage completey - possibly without them even realizing what happened or where you attacked this from. if you are a roaming ambusher this is big deal.

you can still absolutely do hit and run harassment tactics using the other attachments btw. the cool thing about siege is how insanely flexible it is. in 99% of situations there will be more than one way to approach and its what keeps me coming back after countless hours

Suppressors are good overall not just because they're quieter or the nearly invisible bullet trails, but also the complete lack of a threat indicator.

That said they work far better on newer players than more experienced ones.

The explosion knocked the hostage into down but not out, and once they were laying down their feet hit your lesion trap and thus your trap killed him.

This is why you don't put lesion traps close to the hostage.

Yes they want you to buy the operators. It's like the other manshooters where they sell you map and gun packs, except here the maps are free (so the community doesn't get split up at least) and the new guns come with mans attached to them.

FYI her gadget will destroy deployable shields and (I think) activate if placed in front of the shield, so if you've got a guy hiding behind a shield you can get him good with relatively little risk to yourself.

The gadget has to activate and then knock someone through the shield to destroy it.

So shooting it on the wall behind the defender hiding behind the shield will work, if they don't turn around and shoot it before it activates.

Shooting it on the shield or in front of the shield will do nothing unless they jump over the shield or another defender runs in front of the shield.
