It also scales with the dpi scaling you have set in Windows! I know this isn't helpful per se, but maybe it explains why tens of people haven't complained about this earlier. If you're at 100% dpi and 100% website zoom, it'll probably come out about right. But I know it's ridiculous to suggest adjusting these settings just for this.

This is interesting for sure, as the default for me is 125% and setting it at 100% fixes the issue completely but makes everything pretty much microscopic, like crazily so. So you're right on the money but the solution on my side is utterly impractical and brings me right back to where I started wondering if SALR could make the preview window max out at the top of the website.

Is there any way to make a "live thread" reload button at the bottom to reload page then go to the last unread post?

Ie. for GDT threads in Sports forums, its kinda annoying going back forum then latest post. or just hitting F5 and trying to find out wtf you left off on... (especially when there's there like 5 pages in 1 second in some major play). I remember I had it before, I think I it was in the opera version :corsair:

If you enable the page navigator (SALR options -> Threads), the rightmost button acts the same as the 'jump to last read post' button from forums/bookmarks:

I think I've heard about some other third-party extension attempting something like that, but it wasn't SALR or SALR Redux.

incase anyone wants it, btw it auto-reloads (but jams sometimes), so if you're in a GDT thread or whatever, you can basically scroll thru the whole thread without having to click new page every time you want an update

I cleared firefox cache and such and for some reason my SALR is giving the message "NOTE: if this has not populated yet, try visiting a thread". I've been viewing stuff for a day or so but no luck. Anyone have any ideas? I uninstall/reinstalled it already.

E: firefox reinstall fixed it

Is there a way to move user notes between Firefox and Librefox?

I'm migrating and can't figure out how to use the buttons in SALR R - Miscellaneous to accomplish this. Tried Store Local User Notes in Sync but I think this might just be a chrome feature.

Is there a file I can copy/paste?

You want them to be local, then you can hit 'copy json settings string' from one and 'paste json settings string' into the destination.

Okay, so I tried moving them that way but they didn't show up until I disabled Use sync storage for user notes in settings.

I'm confused but it works so thank you!

Some feedback for the preview thing in the settings, as I attempt to dial in my dark mode highlighting. Primarily that there are a few columns that are formatted differently / missing features that exist in the forums

Settings view:

Forums view:

* Author column differs in text color
* number of replies column differs (appears to be a link now, did they add that feature since you made this?)
* most notably the preview lacks pages in the thread title column (which adds two different colors from the thread title itself to that column)
* views/rating/last post columns are just blank (though in all honesty I don't need the first two particularly)

I love the feature, these are just friction points that prevent it from completely replacing repeatedly refreshing another tab to see how everything shakes out

However, post highlighting seems to just literally do (almost!) nothing in dark mode. Am I missing a step or is this broken? (Not screenshotted but it is also like that in the live forums)

Probably missing something obvious. I'm migrating from Chrome to Firefox, and I think everything but the majority of user notes made it. Only 8 of those did.

-After using store local, is there local file I can just copy between browsers?
-I can't recall, is there a way to view the notes I've created to see how many dumb jokes or quotes I've tagged?

You don't copy a file, in the old browser you go to

SALR Settings -> Miscellaneous Commands -> Copy JSON String Settings (then copy the text in the box)

and then in the new browser you go to

SALR Settings -> Miscellaneous Commands -> Paste JSON String Settings (then paste the text in the box) -> Restore Settings (new button just below the paste block)

And you can also just paste that into a text editor and look through the mess for all the user notes

Forgot to reply earlier in the week.

I've done this a half-dozen times combined before and after your reply, but Chrome's version never has the user notes in the JSON block.
But they're gone forever now anyway. It just went from 58 notes stored in sync to the 8 developer ones that are built in. Didn't restore anything that time, but I must've just miscliked while verifying what to type in this window.

Oh well, no combination would make them show in the copy window. For comparison, they were instantly visible in Firefox when I made one a few minutes ago to see where they'd be stored in the text wall.

Yeah a long time ago I had SALR eat my usernotes too. I still don't know if it was because I "stored local" or "stored sync" more than once or something, or what. I thought they would merge, but I think it overwrites, possibly even cuts and pastes? I honestly don't know. I just know they can get eaten and then you'll never get them back.

The funny part is that they were still stored in there somewhere in the depths of Chrome and showing in threads, but weren't stored where they were supposed to be. Some virtual file system or wherever Chrome stores the sync files maybe.

At least I wasn't doing it wrong, so thanks anyway.

I've just changed over to Firefox, having used SALR on Chrome for years with no issues. Now I am seeing that sometimes the quick reply box works:

But sometimes the preview/submit buttons are pushed off screen:

In the latter case I can make the text entry box smaller to show them (since scrolling won't work as it's attached to the bottom of the browser window). Measuring the pixels it looks like the whole quick reply window is created about 35 pixels shorter in the one where the problem is happening.

I've not managed to identify when this is happening though - it doesn't seem linked to specific subforums, or how many replies are on the page. I've got uBlock Origin installed but it's disabled for SA, and I've got Tampermonkey installed but again it's got no scripts set up to run. Has anyone seen this before?

Yeah I can extend the whole thing way outside the frame of the quick reply area. I'm sure it's related to the issue I've had with it for a long time now where the preview windows goes up behind the address bar making it pretty much useless.

I did a search through the settings and the thread and didn't see anything about this. My computer changes from light theme to dark based on the time of day as I'm using my machine about an equal amount day and night and of course SA not only doesn't follow the system theme, it also has the toggle for it buried in a menu that you then have to save.

Is there any way to implement a dark mode toggle in the menu bar with the extension? I don't know how easy or difficult the task would be but my most-used site being the only one that doesn't follow the theme might be enough to get me to learn. I figured it's best to ask first to see if this is a solved problem.

There's a native dark mode in the site settings now, unless you meant a way to toggle that via the extension.

One subforum still forces light mode on anyways (or at least it did for several months) because Jeff is an rear end in a top hat like that. Love 2 get ocularly flashbanged while clicking through my bookmarks

That's exactly what I mean, the toggle is difficult to get to.
