The Feed on SBS got none other than Ricky Nixon on to talk about whether or not Hannah Mouncey should play in the AFLW.

He managed to not only make a bunch of arse backwards about transgender issues and genitals, but also made the argument that the lighter girls, like the Asian ones, might be at risk.

gently caress sake.

"Fox Sports posted:

Clubs will no longer be able to warm-up as a team on the ground other than briefly before the first bounce.

Clubs generally completed a 15-minute warm-up on the field 25 to 40 minutes out from the first bounce, went back into the rooms and then re-entered the arena for a final kick before the match commenced.

Players will still be permitted to enter the arena an hour or two before the start of play — when there is no curtain raiser — but teams will need to conduct the vast majority of pre-game drills in the confines of the change rooms.

It’s understood the AFL has implemented these changes to accommodate more curtain raisers and fan activation initiatives.

:wtc: No shots at goal unless it's into a stack of tires or 10 minutes before the game.

Caroline Wilson wins two Walkleys for reporting on the Essendon Drug Scandal.

Sam Newman wins a Walkley for ... umm ... just telling it like it is, y'know? He also talked about HIV once.

I'm sure a proud and serious organisation like the Walkley Foundation would see the obvious merit here.

Footy fans attending round one matches next week are going to notice something very different about the pre-game and post-game formalities.

The AFL has decided to re-do every single club’s theme song, except for Gold Coast and Greater Western Sydney whose tunes are relatively fresh.

New Richmond song
New Bulldogs song
New Collingwood song
New Essendon song
Jesus, what have they done. :smith:

If we're doing predictions now:

Matthew Guy will get in through a 'tough on crime, and by crime we mean Africans' and 'federal libs talking poo poo about Dandrews' campaign.
Saints will still not have worked out their frustrating inconsistency and lack of intensity, finishing in the double digits.
No one surprising will win the premiership this year.
