I love how mad Essendon fans are getting over the eSports team. So many "this is why we can't win premierships anymore, we spend all our time on computer games!" and when Raz played a game against a pro there were lots of "great strat by the club, playing games rather than being out on the park practicing goal kicking". How do people not stop to think "ok I'm sure players are allowed to have some down time and don't train 24/7, and we haven't won a flag in 18 years, and the esports team has been around for 6 months, so it's probably not the reason we haven't been winning flags".

Also, the esports logo looks better than our main logo

logo is also the shape of most gaming mice

15 minute quarters are one of the reasons why the scoring is garbage. You have literally half the game time of the mens league. Double that score and suddenly two of the four games have reasonable score lines.

Seriously, was there any real desire from the players or coaches or teams to shorten quarters like that? Or make the footy a half size smaller? Or put in the loving idiotic boundary changes? Heavens forbid AFL House just let the girls plays the game. It'd almost be worth keeping AFLX around if they kept all the stupid rule changes confined to that and left the real matches alone.

Which is funnier, this or Taranto last week? Riewoldt is always the winner since it was in a grand final and it was a monumental gently caress up by a champion player but which takes second place?

Daniher is a sack of spuds that should never take shots at goal so passing it off was the right move imo

Alternatively, this sort of "rationalisation" was tried in rugby league with Super League and look how that turned out. It hasn't ever really recovered, and even the heat the VFL took in trying to get the Footscray-Fitzroy merger to happen probably had a bit to do with it. Blame stupid WAFL all you like, it's quite likely the VFL teams would've forced their way back into your ideal scenario once the membership drives got underway.
