I would argue that there is nothing in that plot that couldn't be told about a 24yr old prince and a 17yr old princess with the same dramatic effect and drastically less creepiness. I will agree, though, that it made for a more interesting plot than the show's usual formula of "Killbot screws everything up. Everyone gives her way more leniency than she's earned."
