Bad storm coming, better run to the top of the mountain.

quote:

There once was a man named Worrell - Ernest P. Worrell!

Even as a lad he was sensitive and caring
As cunning as a fox and as slippery as a herring
Whimsical and Mellow- A hale and hearty fellow
Not formal... Not normal!

There once was a man named Worrell - Ernest P. Worrell!
He's kindly as a saint but he'll never shirk a battle
To villains everywhere he's a burr beneath the saddle
He's nimble quick and brawny-His skin is smooth and tawny
Not mealy... Not really!

Ah ah ah ah! See the lightning fill the sky!
Ah ah ah ah! See the angry tide!
See the blinding rain come down
'Oh where is a hero now?' The children cried
He's inside... He went inside!

There once was a man named Worrell - Ernest P. Worrell
The hero of today is the legend of tomorrow
And whosoever crosses him shall live their life in sorrow
For lo the bridges burneth
That they may not returneth
To learneth... from Erneth!

There once was a man named Worrell - Ernest P. Worrell!
Let's celebrate this champion, this paragon of virtue
And should you be his foe, he'll be sorry if he hurts you
To some he's just a man but to others he's a beacon!
He sends his mother cash and he calls her every weekend!
He's punctual, he's affable, he's never quick to quarrel
He's moral... He's Ernest P. Worrell!

Ernest was like IRL Eek the Cat. The joke is that they're both 100% earnest, while surrounded by total irony.

Someone give me a new av thank you and good day

I really like the Ernest movies they were some of my most rented movies, eventually the video store gave me Ernest Scared Stupid because I rented it so often I paid for it multiple times over. They gave me Megaman 4 for the same reason. RIP Jim Varney. Is Super Dave Osborne still alive?

Swan stole my music and framed me!

I'm pretty sure he developed and owned the character and it wasn't part of any larger franchise or IP or whatever which is fairly unprecedented. This is I suppose why he could do local commercials in character when the milk council of upstate new york or whatever could never afford to use a muppet or what have you.

Don't be so gloomy. After all it's not that awful. Like the fella says, in Italy for thirty years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance.

Ernest goes to Africa is quite bad though. I remember a part in it where a "cobra" (really just a python of some type) attacks somebody. (falls on their lap)
