So wait if it's on the Microsoft Store then is the Epic exclusivity period over? Does that mean a Steam release in the near future? Like jokes about the Epic store aside, it's literally non-functional for me. Tried to buy Satisfactory on three separate occasions because a friend wanted to play it online together and every time the purchase just fails with "Unable to complete the purchase at this time. MW5 unlocks new stuff based on the ingame calendar date right? What's the last stuff that unlocks? Not that I plan on actually waiting that long but I'm curious. So far I like a lot of what it's doing but the actual missions and combat are just not as fun as MW4's were (and I just replayed it so it's not nostalgia lol). I know a career mode dlc is planned but it's weird because the campaign itself feels like an afterthought.

Oh cool, that goes for a while. Not cool is not getting to loot this griffin or assassin because I only have six salvage shares and it's impossible to get more yet. This system sucks a lot.

Once you've got a good bit of rep you can salvage assault mechs consistently and it's generally more profitable than taking the money. Also worth taking the multi-mission contracts that have 50% higher payouts once you have a stable of mechs, the payout bonus is for each stage of the mission which can mean four or five new mechs.

Ended up playing alongside The B33f. Ended up leaving the match early, but jumped into his stream quick to see how the round went. Turns out I out damaged the entire enemy team and most of our team in an Anansi. MRMs really helped that little fucker a lot. I ended up on a heavy AMS team later. I wish we had run into him at that point, since his group was running either LRM or ATM boats after I stopped playing. The mixed group and solo queue thing has been pretty alright so far. A 2 mission multi-mission op appears to have bugged out and instead of giving me my payout of 1 million c-bills, gave me 680 million instead. Guess I'm buying everything in the galaxy  Bugs aside, I really like how MW5 handles multiple missions ala Battletech's flashpoints. I bought an SLDF Trebuchet with my infinite money and it's weird how it doesn't tell you anything about how it's that or unique at all outside of coming with Artemis. Other than that I feel like I've played enough? It's really underwhelming compared to MW4: Mercs and it's somehow about as stable.

I didn't realize NASCARing in MWO could get worse but oh my GOD is it bad in TYOOL 2020 I've had to stop playing my Annihilator because folks leave it behind every single match without fail. no one stands and fights, everyone just circles round and round so they don't have to left click (and miss) the enemy

I think there's a mod for that. The feeling of being underwhelmed doesn't go away, and I hit a brick wall with the Cole Harbour mission and so took a break. I only jumped back in tonight to try the latest iteration of the AI mod, new Lancemate AI mod and a weather enhancement mod. I've also gone back to driving Firestarters, mainly because they feel so OP in low drop weight missions - reasonable speed, fairly robust and heat is no issue while running 2xML, 4xSL & 2xMG.

One LBX10 is usually not great FOUR are A+ within 200m LBX20s are good paired with SRMS -- you lose out on some pinpoint but at the ranges you're engaging at it hardly matters

Went back to HBS Battletech and playing that a bunch. MW5 Mercs calls softly to me from the ether but I've been trying hard to resist. Willpower eroding, love of battletech is lowering my expectations and bar for what good is.

If you bought that super cheap xbox live PC subscription when they launched it last year where it was like $1/month or something... they just added MW5 to it for free. Artemis SRM’s are god punchers. I found LRMs to be generally poo poo across the board in mw5 though. I took out a beefed up Archer on a whim, fastest mech I retired from my stable next to the Jaeggermech (which would have been fine if the arms didn’t fall off whenever they heard a loud noise)

I don't think MW5 has cross play between Gamepass and Epic Game store, if you plan on doing coop you should coordinate with the people you'll play with. We've been playing a ton of MW5 on Gamepass, it's been great so far. Definitely worth the price, I think if we had paid $30 each we would have been upset, though.
