I run a 4 lbx10 2NA with a 300STD, with Double heatsinks and max armor. I'm not sure if I have 6 or 8 tons of ammo in it. I quirked for for max armor bonus, top speed, and torso twisting. Leftover skillpoints I put into extra ammo and lbx range extending. I pretty regularly break 900dmg in it.

You can do a similar RAC5 build but the heat build is insane.

I used to have an AC/10 on it but I swapped it for an RAC/5 and it's a ridiculously hot, silly weapon but somehow very satisfying to dakka an enemy while peppering them with 3x SRM4s.

Also it's really dumb but I'm sad I can't seem to fit 4 RAC/5s on a mech.

The only problem is I can't decide what else I'd like to play. I seem to do really awful on Heavy mechs and upwards, and find myself most comfortable when I can run around at 90+ kph. But I feel like I need something longer range, whereas my most-played mechs so far have been the Centurion, a brawler Hunchback before it, and a Jenner.

A King Crab can run 4x RAC5, the DPS and heat build is a massive :lol:

Oh also 1 shotting things in mw4 is impossible, it has a built in safety feature to leave the ct with 1 hp if you would've killed a mech in one shot. It was so guns wouldn't have to be really balanced around a TTK.

E: A thing I saw in twitter comments, is that building physics were turned off for this build. You can't normally just walk through them.

Escort could super work if they changed the mech to a Super Heavy, and put it only on dense;y packed maps. Most the maps are super wide open and the VIP almost never shoots back, making matches either snowball real hard or super boring.

Honest question, not sarcasm.

On one hand, we haven't actually seen PGI dev a game start to fin in years. and they seem to be making a bit of 'oops we hosed up' admissions with bringing frozen city old back.

There's been tons of questionable business/management decisions that i won't go into, but they also seem the sort of folks to go 'oh, wow, thats amazing, how do we do that' after seeing someone else nail it.

I don't doubt that MW5 will be the best game PGI can make, but I also won't be surprised if it comes out and is mediocre. They're a smallish studio and they are making a MechWarrior game. They simply don't have the budget to push the franchise forward like a lot of people are expecting. I'm expecting a MechWarrior rear end MechWarrior game and not much else.

However, PGI would get a lot of brownie points with me if it came to console.

Either way, glad their honest about it. People will be a lot more willing to give them the benefit of the doubt in the future if they can let MWO die gracefully.

Edit: here's a link to a summary of the dev update. The big takeaway is that MWO alone is no longer enough to sustain the company which, again, not a huge shock after seven years.

It's a shame but we should be appreciative of the incredibly talented people behind the game. MechWarrior has never felt nor looked better.

Compare it to mw4m. Can I outfit a lance or two? Can I command them in mission? What does the mission variety look like? What's the campaign mode like? How big are the battles? mw4m would throw your two lances, plus a couple friendly lances against an equal sized opfor, plus vehicles, aircraft, and artillery. Anything comparable?

Single lance command (for what i can only assume is because of the online coop nature of it). Multiple missions with 30+ mechs (dunno how many, the way it was described made it sound rare). MW4 level ai command minus the defend objective options.
