Take a minute to laugh our rear end off at how these jokers just had their asses handed to them by a group of unprepared, jailed prisoners, who took no losses at all in the process. Make sure they understand exactly what we find so funny.

Also, to be fair to these guys, they probably weren’t aware they were attacking a “dangerous persons” prison. Which is what I assume is what this place must be, since the five “unprepared prisoners” are an ansei, a black fang, a berserker, and a pair of thief-acrobats. Not exactly your average group of criminals.
Then they're hilariously incompetent for failing to do basic intelligence gathering before the attack.

I'm assuming it's drastically harder to learn entry-level magic than it is in the videogames, otherwise it would be absolutely insane for literally anyone not to know the basics of healing themselves (and the world would have been destroyed by exponential buff cycles ages ago, besides).

I. Thurdon the merchant is dodgier than a Wood Elf family recipe. He offered a poor family an insultingly low price for their house because he wanted to open up a new store at that location. When they turned the offer down, their house mysteriously burned down three days later. Thurdon bought the plot of land for next to nothing

Of course there was an 'investigation', and of course no evidence turned up. The slimy eel knows which palms to grease to make people look the other way. I couldn't just stand by and do nothing, so in the midst of night I painted an unflattering picture on one of the walls of his house.

K. And I'm proud of it.

Morrowind is my favourite Elder Scrolls game, provided the player speed is set to 400 or higher. Oblivion's Shivering Isles is probably my favourite setting in the series.

This sounds suitable.

Let's maybe rephrase things for Saretta. Offer to put ourselves in her debt in exchange for mercenary services. She doesn't have to deal with the guard exactly, she gets her pardon, and she gets paid. I think this would work. She's working for us as a trade and she gets side benefits.
Alternatively, don't indebt ourselves to someone we barely know for dubious benefit?

Rescued hostages and, unless I'm confused, completed our primary objective of capturing the magic room without anyone even getting injured. This will allow "two centuria of soldiers and a contubernium of battle-mages" to teleport in which should pretty well decide the fight, so not only is backstabbing here dishonorable, it's a pointless risk when we're about to entirely win the day regardless of the survival of these specific dudes.

B now is not the time; at the very least we can save time by explaining when Gallus gets here and inevitably asks wtf
Write-in: Us and Do'Zaro stick around to try to see our deal through, everyone else can leave if they want to. A formal pardon may be useful and I think this is our best chance of getting it, especially after we went ahead and killed some of the folks we allowed to retreat anyway. No need to force that decision on anyone else, though.

What is this place?
Who are you?
What is your interest in me?
Why do you look like me?
Will we speak again after I wake?
Can I return here?
What's up the stairs?
Why did the sehai bearer attack me?
Why would you have me leave this place when a child appears to be in need?
Who made the rules that "we" are cheating?
Who enforces them?
What is their purpose?
Will they take exception to the cheating?
Why did attempting to cut free hurt me?
What happens if I keep trying?
Are my companions in danger?

Specifically, what happens if I keep cutting just like I just did?
What dragon?
Are we likely to interact with said dragon? When, why, and how?
Why would we cut it? Would it be a good idea to so so?
What does it want?
What other useful ways are there to cheat the rules, which I might be capable of?
What danger are we in, specifically?
Why are you so vague?
What can I do to help you be less vague?
Are there any rules I should be aware of that I'm not already?
How can I best recognize you in the future?
How do I know you're not acting against my interests, bearing in mind that I have no way to confirm your claims to be me?
How can I improve my sehai?
