you know I bet that there is one actual benefit to Musk being stupid - it gets reporters out of the actual rescuers hair. the actual way he could in any way "help" would be to tell the rescuing team "ask for whatever you think could be useful - electronics, gear, even custom dive tanks - and it will be here as soon as physically possible. don't worry about the expense."
