Same. I was really hopeful for this game, since X-COM 2 was such a disappointment for me. Pity.

Kinda thinking my interest in this game is done, then. A shame. X-COM 2 was a huge disappointment for me and I was hoping this would scratch the Enemy Unknown-like itch. Guess not.

The console wars also in large part happened because different consoles represented different hardware, often with wildly different capabilities and specs, which meant games typically had to be developed with one specific platform in mind.

This does not apply to PC gaming.

There's a point where that is true, and that is more or less how consoles are. They're largely competitive with similar capabilities so what games were on what platform mattered a lot.

(This is largely how the XBox kept up, by sealing a few key exclusives.)

Unfortunately, as that article points out, the flaw in the dude's thinking is the idea that Epic Games Store is already on parity with Steam, much less GOG, Origin, and Uplay. It... is by far the worst digital platform on the market and a few exclusives aren't going to give it parity with the other digital platforms.

Also, let's be honest: this thread was two pages long before it got moved to Epic. Phoenix Point is not the kind of console/store war winner Epic wants.
