Yes, and as someone from one of those countries I can cofirm that. Ice hockey's a lot more excting though

Well, in terms of player numbers field hockey is a lot more popular worldwide since you don't need cold/ice, you don't need to be able to skate and you don't need all the equipment. Professional field hockey barely exists though.
