This all looks fun as hell. Really glad goons are getting together and playing this dumb game together. It really is the best dumb game ever made imho.

Id be into the group more if I could actually block time to play the game for more than a 5 minute stretch at a time, but when something comes up irl, I have to drop the game immediately and take care of it... and that’s not fair to people I’d be playing with.

So I stay on the periphery and watch the good times from a distance ;)

Not sure why I felt compelled to post this... I guess I just wanted to let people know why their invites go unaccepted most of the time.

I did have something funny happen last week. I spun the wheel, hoping to get a car and landed on the mystery square.... and won a car! I now own a normal in game black Invetero(?) Coquette. A car that I have managed to not buy the entire time I’ve been playing lol

Nice, I think I've won two cars from the mystery option, but nothing as good as the coquette. A friend of mine has received a single candy bar, all the way up to a full bunker resupply.

Yeah I feel for pubbies who only ever grind the game and never experience the joy of RPG vs Insurgents or Funnel Derby or Car darts with a group because it really is where the game shines; not running crates for the 1000th time in a solo lobby.

Fart.Bleed.Repeat.
Sep 29, 2001

For sure, for funsies these modes and hanging out and ganging up on pubbies is the way to go. I know this is preaching to the choir and I also hate telling people in game they're doing things the wrong way.... but if you are spending all the time just "grinding" and not enjoying the game then it really should be time to re-evaluate things. I think a lot of players are simply equating ~any~ work with GRINDING, and as soon as you have to do 37 missions to fill a warehouse, oh my god, this is like the grindiest thing EVER, crates bad, booooooo! Part of this post here is just PSA to show that there are alternatives for making money, and that what you know is probably not the only way to do things. If people do have further questions about getting into any of it, the discord is probably a better place for discussion. There is also posted there a good guide on "how not to get owned, and hot not to own yourself" that goes in depth on many of these businesses and good use cases

I go back to just before the first CEO update, so I've been through almost every stage of online and the various grinds/businesses that go along with it. Each of the major business steps has been an improvement over the previous businesses in some way, or added something to make a previous job easier. I feel that the key is to use this to advantage and know when to switch focus from one to another. I think alot of players get stuck on one business being "better" than another and never trying them all out. Since I've been around for almost all of these, Ive done them mainly in order, gotten very familiar with each, and have my own views on when they are best used. If I was starting out from scratch today, I would do things in a totally different order. If all you're looking for is to make the big money number get bigger, than hell yeah, work yourself to death, crack a billion, etc. If what you want is to have a periodic windfall and buy some toys, then play with em, get into heisting where its entirely possible to make a few million over a couple days, then come back to it in a few weeks when you need another bump of cash. Want a steady income with occasional big bumps? Work some of these smaller grinds, then get the nightclub cooking for you passivley, and do some IE as a side hustle. Mix it up.. feel free to stop doing crates if youve burned yourself out. If you no longer feel you need the hourly bump of MC businesses, cut those back and only do the better paying ones. Cant be bothered with much of that anyway? You my friend are the perfect candidate for glitches or shark cards. If you pick one thing and stick with it, you WILL burn yourself out and eventually will hate that aspect of the game

Alot of this came up with someone posting a FOOLPROOF plan/schedule/routine to repeatedly make $800k in like 3 hours. Sounds great, until you dig into it a bit and realize that this is all 5 MC businesses, repeated CEO work, several rounds of import/export, etc, and it totaled up to like 20+ discreet missions to be done, in order, on time, and no margin for error, within that 3 hour period.... and then do it again! Sales can be very stressful, so when about 75% of your routine is sale missions, that tells me its not a very efficient path you're on. Weigh that profit vs effort, and you might as well just 100% run crates to make that much in half the time, and have some free time to spare. or run a heist a couple times, or sell a few IE cars and call it good for the day

That's another thing that comes up many times for discussion... how much money is ENOUGH? Enough for what? To buy everything n the game I think realistically is around 500m-1b, but its also impossible to own every apartment, every car, every everything. Enough so that when the next DLC comes you're ready? Again realistaclly for every update, 5-10mil has been enough for a property, new vehicles, and to get invested in whatever new business was added. It might not be enough to buy EVERYTHING from an update- looking at you, ArenaWars- but its enough to get pretty fully immersed. 5-10 million is conveniently right at that threshold where it's pretty easy pickings to knock out some heists, some bogdans, maybe some 2x crates and be there within a week or so. The next predicted large DLC is still 3 months away

A brief history of the businesses in the order they were introduced, to show some of the progression

Contact missions and OG heists are still pretty viable as money makers, but mainly on bonus weeks, or for players doing them the first time through for bonuses and challenges(all in order, loyalty, CMM, etc)

CEO gave us crates. Solid money maker, but its a lot of work. There are ways to lessen this, like a terrorbyte and filling multiple warehouses, but it's still the most intensive "job" in the game. Current best use is to poke away and fill them mostly(upto about 78 in each so you dont trigger raids) then when a bonus week comes, sell the hell out of it and get a big score- 5 large warehouses sell for 20-25 million. That's not bad for a big score when the bonus on these is about 2 months apart. Big downside to crates is that when you do them, there's not a lot of time for other stuff

Motorcycle clubs came next. This was the start of semi-passive businesses, and the whole cycle of 1. Get Supplies 2. Wait 3. Sell Product, and being able to run multiple businesses at once. I feel this is the most beginnner friendly business series. Buy-in starting costs are pretty low for the basic versions but of course you need upgrades and better locations. Yes it is possible to use these and make a ton of money, but the dirty secret is that while everyone calls these passive, they really aren't, there's a lot of micro managing and watching the clocks to get things running smoothly. By the time you get several of these running and watching clocks, you start having less and less free time and now you're at a second job just to make the drug trains run on time

CEO stage 2 gave us Import/Export... This one's great for solo once you do the little bit of work to get undesirable cars out of the way. This one's good for quick money, like if you need 100-200k NOW. Once you're in the groove, you can turn around $250k profit in an hour, doing 3-6 missions(3 source + 3 sells). Not a lot of downsides other than being tedious.

Gunrunning is the same model as the MC stuff, but bigger numbers. This one can also be stacked with MC stuff, so now you can run 6 businesses at once, or mix and match them in your routine

Hangars brought air crates. Same business model as the original crates, but unless you really like flying planes, the missions associated with these are garbage. Main purpose for this is probably to go through one time and unlock trade prices, then like I said, if you like planes missions, have at it on bonus weeks

Doomsday improved on the original heists by letting more of it be done in freeroam

The nightclub brought us truly passive income, and also the terrorbyte which is fantastic for a grinder. No more needing to run back to an office to interrupt your flow, and the mk2 that goes along with it is great for most all of the businesses and their missions

The casino and heist further improved on the world of heisting by making it almost all free-roam and adding some variety within the H itself. Also to mention, the arcade and its master terminal is a big step up from the terrorbytes mobile platform

For fast, semi-exciting money, I can't do much better than a couple back-to-back 2-person casino heists. Screw around on voice chat while soloing what prep you can, grab a buddy to help speed up the other prep, split the loot 2 ways. Then do the same with said buddy's heist.

I guess it also helps that I made a fingerprint minigame solver, I think it's based on something somebody made or linked to in this thread, but it's an actual executable.

You don’t need it. Fingerprint game takes 10 seconds after a little practice which is plenty fast to get everything done in the heists. And it isn’t in a cheaty gray area where you have a third party program playing the game for you. The only defense I’ve seen of it is “rockstar can’t detect it” which seems REALLY short sighted. Just scroll up to that reddit post of the mass bans Rockstar did recently. They don’t have to directly detect your executable to see you solve a 10 second mini game instantly every time. And the risk just doesn’t really have any worthwhile reward.

While I agree with your argument on tools like that, it's both much less risk and much less reward than you're thinking. It does not send control inputs to the game, but even then it does save a little time over what it normally takes. But generally speaking it's not worth it. I didn't make it to be a time saver, I'm just programmer-lazy.

This script should work for all of the plushies except shiny wasabi, she is in a bugged location and I ran that script for probably 100 hours just trying to get her with no luck. To get her you need to glitch her location out by eating snacks in first person and getting them stuck in the machine, pushing her closer to the middle of the machine.

Bort theorized in the Discord that this is probably caused by getting a phone call, which eats your input. Not a lot of ways to avoid that, unfortunately.

Here is the guide I used for tips and tricks https://www.reddit.com/r/gtaonline/comments/et6d79/arcade_trophy_case_guide/

For Wizard's Ruin the blue fairies on the first level only drop treasure if you kill them with magic. Even if you do your best and beat the game without dying you won't have enough points so what you need to do is farm the adds on the spider boss for a while. I think you need like 700 or 800k by the time you beat the boss to guarantee the trophy, but I forget the actual number and you'll need to look it up.

As for space monkey I was able to use a glitch with slow time to play the whole game in slow motion and it was a really easy (but long) run that got me enough points. I don't know if the glitch has been fixed, or how to get the points without it

No probs at all. Also been some talk lately in the discord about the shooting ranges and what they unlock, tips etc. The one in the BUNKER has 5 or 6 guns and 3 levels. Getting the first level unlocks clothes and adds a free weapon(grenade launcher?) down the hall in the bunker. Beating all level 2 challenges adds another weapon(RPG?) and also gives you +5 capacity on all your throwables. And then beating level 3 is more clothing unlocks. There are also shooting ranges at a some of the ammunation stores, beating all the challenges there gives you a permanent discount at the store, upto 25% off if you gold all the challenges. In the store are i think 7 weapons and each has 3 challenges, so 21 or 21 total challenges.

General tips on them... upgrade weapons that are used. You'll definitely benefit from larger mags so you can shoot instead of reload. Some of the upgrades help with recoil and accuracy. MK2 weapons can be used if they are direct upgrades of the challenge weapon. Headshots are key as they give the most points, and also taking your time and chaining hits together builds a multiplier that you will need for later challenges. White targets seem a little easier to pick out so that may be another way to help

IMO these are good time killers as we all wait till December update. Knock these out and get caught up on the various treasure hunts and collectibles. There's a lot of easy money and rewards to be made with these, once you've run out of "new" stuff to do from the last updates, especially on crappy weeks like air freight
