Wahey! A Cook Back In Time is available legally on youtube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cb2X9QXhdvI This one's all about roman cooking. Absolute History is a pro subscribe, they are licensing a ton of good documentaries and putting them on Youtube. I wonder if that's a sustainable business model.

I thought Worcestershire was a botched attempt to make curry, so they left it in a basement for a few years and it magically got tasty edit: As per the website https://www.leaperrins.com/History , I now wonder what the hell the original recipe was for

I think wrt the pie filling drowning in butter, that they were going for some kind of confit effect to preserve it. The clarified butter would hopefully be sterile, and it would seal the meat from some air. A Tupperware made of butter and flour.

There's a whole bunch of different shows too, mostly the same people (Victorian Pharmacy just has Ruth returning though, but she's the best). https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBC_historic_farm_series My mom has the Victorian Farm companion book :p Oh, Victorian Bakers. You'll love that one. Suspect Bucket fucked around with this message at 04:25 on Feb 2, 2020 |

Supersizers Go is great, you just have to focus on how good Sue is. Giles grows on you if you just accept he's playing the role of blithering nonce the finest it's ever been played. He also presents Back In Time For Dinner, and is considerably more tolerable in that. This show follows a family through the last 50 years of kitchens, dining, and British Society. The family in it is lovely. Looks like all of those have been scrubbed from YouTube as well x.x.

This is the best CYOA i've ever heard of. You simmer the chicken carcass for several hours. Add CHICKEN BROTH to your Inventory Page. If you want CHICKEN SOUP, Turn to page 54. If you want BEAN SOUP, Turn to page 60.

I'm fuch an odd jumble. Lardons are the best, I don't cook bacon any other way any more. Also, because if I cook slices, half/all of it disappears into my fiancè.

I like prunes but why would you put them in white potato? They would be nice over a sweet potato casserole sort of thing, with roasted nuts and such. Look, you can get as saucey and fancy as you want with pasta, but ultimately nothing beats cramming handfulls of buttered salted noodles in your face for pure carb heaven.
