https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piJbpEcpmy4 Final Fantasy, a series of Japanese Role-Playing games usually revolving around the theme of a team of four or more heroes of varying archetypes doing something involving representations of the four major elements, an evil Empire, and a bunch of crystals. What kind of adventure will we have? That is up to you! Yes, you and your characters are as much of an influence on the story on the kind of game being run as the team make-up itself. This game is run using The Final Fantasy RPG 4th Edition Ruleset. lease note there is also a subreddit, /ffrpg, that has various other sourcebooks and errata. While the game seems initially intimidating in its math, it's a great deal simpler than one might think: you roll 1d100 + whatever the relevant stat is, and then you have to beat a static DC, usually the opponent's defense stat +/- a modifier that is indicated by the ability itself. The combat and exploration parts of the character sheet are completely separate from one another, so no need to worry about making someone who is bad at combat or can't do much out of combat, as the system ensures there's no real interaction between the two systems. I'll be using this Discord server to both help people put together character sheets as well as run the game. This thread will be used to announce picks, post character sheets, and work on the finer details of the game. For now, however, think of this as Session Zero.
