The books are generally the same quality as the show. Both are good. The books are "more", not better. The books often drag on for a bit just building up for a while but the payoff is always great. Book 4 isn't as bad as some people say it is. I quite like it. But for some reason its very divisive .

Overall I'm only disappointed that they cut one thing: When the religious weirdos are going to the Ring in Season 3/Book 3, there's a religious nut who tries to immolate himself in protest in a big meeting room on the ship. As soon as he lights himself on fire, the ship's fire suppression system douses him with anti-fire foam, and security just escorts him out with him looking sullen and I thought that was the funniest poo poo.

There's a rumor that Dawes is coming back next season because Jared Harris has been hanging out with expanse actors but also as part 2 of that rumor is that FroJo (fred johnson) will no longer appear on the show because of scheduling conflicts
