It seems really stupid that the previous loser gets an automatic spot in the tournament. But then tjis whole thing seems like a really bad way to choose a world champion.

That is easily the only mean thing I’ve ever heard from JB By the way, re. the tweets in the OP, is Magnus as much of an rear end in a top hat as that makes him sound, or just a nerdy guy trying to be witty in a second language? He usually seems quite gracious but then he has these moments of total douchiness, like the tweets about America ‘buying’ the best Olympiad team
