I don't think, as speculated that the planetary collision means were seeing the OPA attack on Earth this season, instead I think it comes from Holden's vision in the slow zone of how the alien civilisation collapsed.

Not a supernova then?

Is Thomas Jane confirmed to be back?

Given how important it was, I felt like the Martian mass mutiny was rather undersold in the books before poo poo went down, giving Bobbie more to do by working undercover for Chrissie looking into discontent on Mars and the missing ships would be nice. Similarly having events in the belt give us more of the background on how Marco got his army together would bridge the gap pretty nicely. If Diogo doesn't end up being the first person through the ring, he could also be a perspective character for the OPA politicing, and Cortezar could keep the human side of the PM plot thread moving too.

I honestly think Marco with be a lieutenant to Dawes. Dawes is an established character and won't come out of leftfield like Marco did in the books. Have Naomi's old love interest (domineering abuser really), and her old gang, be an incidental characters behind Dawes makes a lot of sense.

Episode 7/8, is the denouement of Caliban's War. There is a temporary ceasefire, when Errinwright is exposed and Mao is captured then beaten to death with a chair.

Then all poo poo breaks loose.

The last thing said in Episode 8 is, well, a surprise.

I thought they were a shared consciousness and corporeal. I need to go back and read the end of AG.

That doesn't make a lot of sense, why would they bother with a galaxy spanning empire if they don't even have a need for material things.

That bit of information must have been rejected by my eyes as being a glitch, I just don't remember it at all.

I am a really confused by this. Perhaps it is a lack of imagination on my part.

Why if they have shed the binds of the real do they need more real. How can a collective consciousness have differing statuses, surely that would be a redundant construct.

I will go back and read it again, but I am currently very confused by their alien needs.

"Sometimes, having a body at all means you've got a certain status. If you aren't pretty drat trusted, you don't get to walk the fallen world."
"The fallen world?"
"Fallen World. The substrate. Matter"

Is this what you are referring to? That is Miller is telling Holden he can't interface with the station because he is non corporeal? He can't wifi to get it working.

The fallen world is an interesting phrase though.

A little later he says: "You're not making a remote connection. You're actually here. In the substrate. In some quarters, that's kind of a big deal."

It's a bit tenuous.

He is an unbelievable character sure, but there are plenty of real people just like him. Che was probably a template.

Murty wasn't Miller's deputy, that Havelock. He forms a mutiny against Murty.

I have been thinking how they can adapt books 4-7 (if it gets picked up by the big river corp).

They only really need Holden to take the Roci on escort duty to Ilus (NewTerra)*, perhaps with Bobbi and Prax. The other three could take extended leave while he is away.

When he gets there they have a truncated CB plot, there is an alien ship yard, a time dilation device* and other artifacts which Miller/Investigator activates very early on, leading to the plot beats of Nemesis Games. Only there is another Tachi class corvette from MCRN on escort as well.

As the Roci is approaching the Ilus gate to the slow zone, it is passed by the rogue MCRN fleet. They are told to leave this system, which is now called *Laconia.

The Roci goes through with the Barkeith being the last rogue to go the other way. Soon after the gate actually closes.

Babylon's Ashes and Persepolis Rising can similarly by merged, without the time jump obviously. As the Free Navy ships get chomped by the gatespace kraken, the Laconia gate reopens with Gathering Storm and Heart of the Tempest coming through.

The Laconians have experienced 30+ years during the period the gate was shut due the time dilation device Holden handed over to the Martians.

The last 2 books could be adapted into a last season, perhaps two if they are super dense. I think books 4-7 could easily be condensed to two seasons.

Just some thoughts...

*Re: the time dilation device is central to Murtry going to war with the colonists, eventually Holden works with MCRN commander (who is part of the mutiny), to keep it safe.

e: expanded the Time Dilation Device, so that it gives better motivation for Murtry and doesn't come out of left field.

It is probably linked to the ships disappearing. Perhaps too much mass passing the rings ends up getting ejected into Outside Spacetime, with the many tentacled monstrosities from the Dungeon Dimensions.

I get the feeling Bobbie is going to be part of the recon team that picks up Holden on the station. Perhaps because they have history?

The last shot of ep8 is from beyond the meniscus of the ring, so they are already in Gate Space. It is kind of misleading because the background is the solar system, but if you look at the stars there is a lensing (distortion) effect, and the ring is curved away from the Roci.

I am really really hoping Ashford is forced to take over because Drummer gets injured during the speed change, rather than sticking to the mutiny/anti-mutiny/mutiny/eh plot.
