They're the reason she has to be in hyperjail a mile underground later on, and they're a major part of her character in the most recent book. Although being a big part of book 7 may not matter seeing as even if the show hadn't got cancelled I doubt they would have made it that far anyways. The overlapping combat-monster plot role of Amos, Bobbie, and Clarissa could probably be streamlined down for future use. The show has demonstrated a willingness to go different routes often enough that we can't rely on it, I think.
