homebrew's pretty ok for nerd stuff but half the time the homebrew version is badly out of date compared to the real version desktop gui type software sucks on mac because every company that makes quality stuff does that scam where they release a new "major version" every year that does nothing new except conform to the current UI trends and they try to charge you full price for it.
