I dont give a crap about the dialectical authenticity or whatever, i care about the quality of the film. You know- the plot, the performances, the cinematography... It's not a freaking documentary

Steve Buscemi as Kruschev alone is worth it.

I just saw this the other night. Pretty good movie in my opinion. Given the subject matter it was dark but Iannucci manages to get humor out of the situation, mostly by having all of the Stalin's flunkies going around not knowing what to do or who to trust. Like Midjack said Buscemi was great as Kruschev.

The new lynne ramsay/joaquin phoenix walking around witha hammer joint looks good. And I want to see Annihilation before it goes away

While there were a few big laughs most of the time I was just grinning at the clever humor and acting. A lot of the humor comes from the fact that the British and American actors keep their own accents in the movie, so you have Steve Buscemi as Nikita Khrushchev sounding like Mr. Pink. I also liked Jason Isaacs as Georgy Zhukov, who he plays as a flamboyant general. That said I while I would recommend the movie, I wouldn't call it a must-watch and you could just wait for a video release.

I liked it but idk if i'd rush out and see it immediately. Its good but like 99% of movies these days you aren't missing much if you wait for it to hit your preferred home viewing medium.
